My arms and legs had been secured with chains, my arms elevated, and my feet attached to the ground, leaving me in a kneeling position.

Dani was ordered away the second my chains were attached. He gave me an apologetic frown, and I nodded, understanding there were more pressing matters.

I could at least keep Dimitri distracted.

There was a bed in here. Two nightstands. A desk and chair. Otherwise, this room was rather plain.

Why am I up here?

My question was answered relatively quickly. A few guards took turns pummeling their fists into my stomach, my sides, andmy face. After my eyes became swollen and blood started pouring from my broken nose, I was left alone for hours, tugging at my chains, attempting to break free from them to no avail. I squeezed my eyes tight, trying to regulate my breathing at what this position reminded me of.

The door eventually creaked open, Dimitri ambling in. A Mage woman with long, black hair and dark brown eyes was being hauled in behind him. The guards tossed her to the floor, and she stumbled a few steps before hitting the wooden ground.

Dimitri rolled his eyes. “Get up, Deana.”

She obeyed, slowly creeping up from the floor, her blank expression nearly as haunting as those overtaken by the necromancer.

“What do you want from me?” I spat the blood that had gathered in my mouth on the floor in front of me, glaring at him from my position on the ground.

I felt my panic rise as Dimitri staggered forward, a sickening grin on his face as he gripped a blade, tearing away at the shirt I wore, and stripped it off me. My armor had already been removed before they secured me in this position.

Sweat mixed with blood as it poured down my face, my breathing labored as his eyes went to my back. No one had seen me shirtless in over five years.

I couldn't move, nor could I meet his eyes as he took in the sight.

“Oh, wow,” Dimitri drawled, running his finger along the flesh on my back. I flinched, and he chuckled. “Not what I was expecting back here.”

“What do you want?” I seethed, trembling violently.

Dimitri didn't care much for my back. His eyes danced, his sinister smile growing. “Deana, come here, pet.”

Deana's hollow gaze met his as she stood, wandering over to him.

“Undress.”

My eyes flared, darting away as the woman began to strip.

Dimitri pressed his blade against my neck, and I grunted as my malicious glare found his wretched face.

“Ah, ah, ah,” he taunted, wagging his index finger. “Enjoy the free show, princeling.”

My nostrils flared, and as he pressed the blade harder against my jugular, I shifted my eyes to the now naked woman, who stood as still as a statue.

The woman had beauty to her, but her body was malnourished. Bruised.

He withdrew his blade and began fumbling with his belt as he turned to her, his back facing me. “On your knees.”

“Don't,” I barked, sensing where this was going. “Don't touch her!”

He pushed down roughly on her shoulders, her knees hitting the wood with a thud. Her lip trembled, her drained eyes landing on mine.

“DON'T YOU FUCKING TOUCH HER!” I roared, thrashing at my chains. My senses became heightened as I felt the right chain attached to my arm became loosened.

Dimitri only snickered. “She's used to this, princeling.” He stroked her jaw as he removed his belt.

Her eyes filled with tears. Still, she kept her gaze on mine.

I pulled and pulled with all my might. As Dimitri released his cock, I tugged my arm so hard that my shoulder dislocated, andthe chain finally broke free. Despite the pain, I whipped it at his back, the metal clacking against his skull, knocking him straight to the ground.
