I nod, burying my shame behind my cup as I take a sip.

“Sounds like a match made in heaven. Why Bluebird?” She scrunches up her nose.

I shrug, as I have been thinking the same thing. “No clue.”

“So this mystery man, whose name you don’t know, fucked you silly, gave you four mind-blowing orgasms, bought you new clothes…” She gestures down my torso. “And then did a runner?”

“Yup.” I nod, frowning.

“Well, I’ll give it to you. That’s the strangest one-night stand. Ever. Who buys someone clothes?” She thinks about it for a moment before drowning her pancakes in syrup.

I clear my throat, feeling the need to defend him. “He did owe me underwear.”

Hannah stops midchew. “Why?”

“Because he kind of, well, he ripped mine off.”

Hannah’s fork bounces off the table and onto the floor. The waitress ignores us, familiar with Hannah’s theatrics. “I take it back. That’s not strange, that’s fucking hot.”

She has no idea

“I wish I asked for his name.”

Hannah steals my fork and waves it in veto. “It’s best not to get hung up on personal details, Baylee. That’s what one-night stands are all about. Anonymity.”

I groan, dropping my head in humiliation. “I don’t think it’s in my genetic makeup to do that. I can’t stop thinking about him.”

“You can’t stop thinking about his junk, you mean,” she corrects around a mouthful of food.

“Maybe. I don’t know,” I quickly amend. “I’ve never been attracted to anyone that way before. And I don’t even know his name. He forever will be known as Tiger, the man who rocked my world.”

Hannah chokes on her juice. “Tiger?”

“Yes, ‘cause of your earlier reference of grabbing the tiger by his…”

“Balls.” She fills in the blanks with a grin.

“Yes.”

“And did you?”

I blush, wishing I had a better poker face. “No. He was in total control,” I confess, feeling foolish.“It was actually quite pathetic on my behalf.”

Hannah scoffs in defiance. “A man wanting to dominate you in the bedroom is not pathetic. It’s hot. His alpha dog is probably high-fiving his dick.”

I shake my head, smirking. “Your crudeness never ceases to amaze me.”

She laughs her magical cackle. “This is all part of moving on. You’ve had the perfect rebound lay, and tomorrow, you start a new chapter in your life. Life is good. Stop moping.” She reaches across the table to soothe out my frown lines.

I can’t help but chuckle. “I know you’re right. You’re totally right. I mean, no point pining over a guy I’ll never see again. Right?”

“Absolutely. Besides, you’ll be so busy dealing withthe fox, your tiger will be long forgotten.”

“Han, are you sure I look okay?”

“Baylee, for the tenth time, yes, you look beautiful.”

“Beautiful? I want to look professional, not beautiful.” I flip down the visor to look at my reflection once again.
