Danya blinked. “Um. Well. Actually we broke up.”
“What!” Both women stared at her.
“Yeah. You were right. I wasn’t happy with him.” She shrugged.
“And this makes you that happy? My god, things must have been bad.”
“I’m not happy because of that.” She tried, she really did, but she had to look at Carter, now standing behind the counter talking to one of his staff. Big, tall, frowning a little as he gestured, he had the young man nodding vigorously as he apparently gave him direction.
Marina and Jenny followed her gaze then looked back at her, their mouths open, eyes wide. “Oh dear lord,” Marina breathed. “You’re going to go after him now, aren’t you?”
Danya laughed and sipped her latte. “No.”
Carter turned at the sound of her laugh and their eyes met. Joined. Locked. He arched a brow and she squirmed a little in her seat, knowing he was thinking about her bare pussy.
“We uh…went out last night.”
“You’re kidding. How did that happen?”
Danya smiled. “Why don’t you two get your coffees?”
Jenny sat back in her chair and made a noise. “Fine. But you better tell us what’s going on when we get back.”
