“Crown has his ways to get people to do what he wants, but girl, you are going to the Bahamas,” Nisha stressed with humor in her tone. “Go relax and have fun. Crown is fun.”

“Why me? Why didn’t he take you, his boys, or any other female then? I was perfectly fine here.” I was whining and probably sounded ungrateful. Being on an island in the middle of the week sounded terrific, but being on an island with a sexy ass man that wasn’t my man was wild.

Nisha sighed. “Kupid, read the room.”

“What…”

“Bye, giiiirl,” she sang out, before hanging up.

I felt like I was being pranked. Letting out an aggravated breath, I marched to the Hummer, where Lee stood with the back door open. We spoke briefly, and then I was on my way to the private jet. I could have texted Crown this morning to ask him to take someone else, but since he had given me his number, I hadn’t used it, and he hadn’t used mine. If I had a question, Nisha would assist me via text or phone. He flirted, but I really thought that was just his way.

I could see the blogs now. Crown with his assistant in the Bahamas. They’d call me all sorts of names and compare me to Jania. They called me Plain Jane and talked about how Jania matched his work ethic while I was just looking for a come-up. I tried my best to ignore it all but found myself reading the comments. Asia would be in the comments arguing with them all.

“We’re here, Miss Love,” Lee announced.

I groaned for the millionth time.

My hair was in a bun, and I wore a long-sleeved t-shirt with light blue sweats from Pretty Little Thing. Bare face. I wasn’t feeling this. Now, I would be in the air for hours with Crown Heart.

Lee grabbed my bag, and I dragged up the jet's steps behind him. He handed my bag off to someone, turned to me, and nodded his head with a smile. Crown appeared, extending a hand out to me. Huffing, I put mine in his, and he helped me up the steps.

“Grumpy?” He chortled.

“I’m on my period,” I lied, hoping that Crown would change his mind about taking me with him.

“Lie again.”

I wanted to ask him why he thought I was lying about my cycle, but I rolled my eyes instead. The jet was nice, and it smelled good. I sat down, kicked off my Nikes, and brought a leg up to my chest. Playing with my bun, I attempted to avoid glancing at Crown. He was wearing a simple black crew neck t-shirt and grey joggers that visibly showed his dick print. I wondered if he wore that shit on purpose. I wondered if it was on soft because of the way it hung…

“Kupid, eyes off my dick. I asked if you were thirsty, but I can see that you are a little…parched.” Crown cracked up, holding his hands over his junk.

“Why would you wear shit like that anyway?” I mumbled. “No, I’m fine.”

Crown sat across from me, now with a glass of liquor.

“Have you flown before?” he asked.

I nodded and texted Asia that I was about to be in the air. She quickly texted back, telling me to fuck Crown while in the air, and I turned my phone off. That girl was wild.

“My bad,” I said, placing my phone down.” Yeah, I have a few times with Asia on girl trips and a few times with my ex.” I cringed at the thought of Shawn. My eyes flicked back to Crown. “If I would have said Paris, would you have taken me there?”

“I would have,” Crown replied with a boyish grin. “Is that where you want to go instead? I’ll tell the pilot to change directions.”

I extended my hands and shook them. “No, no. I was asking; besides, I know all the reservations have already been made.”

Crown released a sigh. “I really hope you let your hair down and don’t worry about the past while in the Bahamas. Fuck that nigga, Kupid. I know today makes you feel a way because you’re used to doing the same shit every year, but you wit’ a real nigga for the next three days.”

My chest caved in as I heard Crown speak about it being Valentine’s Day and how it contrasted with what I was used to. It made me sad because I was truly in love with Shawn. I really loved that guy. I never thought we wouldn’t be together because I truly didn’t believe he was a jerk. My eyes burned as tears attempted to escape from their ducts. I sniffed them back and tossed my head back.

“Damn. I ain’t try to make you cry, love.”

“It’s… It’s okay, and you’re right. I need to stop thinking about today and what I would have been doing. I really appreciate this trip. It’s just… a little weird.” I giggled lightly when Crown’s brows rose.

“How so?” he countered.

I tossed my hands up, and they came back down, slapping my thighs.

“Because you’re my boss!”
