While I was washing my hands, Nisha was beside me, washing hers. When I peered in the mirror, she was gawking at me with a smile.
“What?” I asked with a chuckle.
“Nothiiing,” she stressed.
Asia exited a stall, and I gave her my sink and went to dry my hands.
“It’s something,” I replied.
“You’re really pretty, and it’s just weird seeing Crown do shit he ain’t never did.”
I cocked my head to the side. “Like what?”
She came over to dry her hands. “Liiike have you work from his home… let you come in his studio…” Nisha held both handsup. “Flying your homegirl out and letting you party with him. Crown has never done that.”
“He likes my girl. Is that what you’re saying?” Asia chimed in.
I rolled my eyes to the ceiling and groaned, “Asiiiia.”
“What, girl?” She laughed. “I think that’s what Nisha is saying.”
We both turned to Nisha.
Nisha lifted her shoulders. “I’m just saying I’ve never seen my boy do any of this before, and I’ve been with Crown since the beginning.”
“Oh wow, my friend is about to date a superstar,” Asia gushed, looking at the ceiling.
“Girl, what?” I shrieked. “No, I’m not. I think Crown is nice to me because I joined his team. Everyone knows not to mix business with pleasure.”
“Whatever,” Asia mumbled. “I still think it’s more, but whatever you say. And… and if it is more, you better not let that pass you by.”
“I just got out of a relationship, Asia. A five-year relationship.” I reminded my friend. “If a truck driver can cheat, you know damn well a rapper will.”
“Crown isn’t like that, though. When he’s single, he’s single, so yeah, he does single things, but when he’s in a relationship, he's in there,” Nisha stated, coming to Crown’s defense.
“Then why is he single now?” Asia questioned, folding her arms over her chest. “Or is he single because, you know, there are rumors about him and Jania?”
Nisha rolled her eyes this time. “I’m not about to talk Crown’s business, but I will clear those rumors. Not true.”
“They would make a cute couple, though,” I said, adding my two cents.
Asia swung her hair back off her shoulder. “Yeaaaah, but that’s yo’ man.”
I laughed. “Girl, that is not my man. Don’t say that again. Anyone can be in this damn bathroom and run to the blogs. I’m trying to stay off that shit, remember?”
Nisha cackled. “Good luck. When Crown first came out, they thought I was his woman. They tend to make up their own shit.”
We left the bathroom after ensuring we looked straight and back to the section. My feet were killing me, and I wanted to sit down for a minute. We lucked up when most of the females in the section were either on the dance floor or standing up.
“I just need a second because my feet are starting to bark,” I told Asia. Nisha had walked over to Crown.
“Mine too, friend.”
You think she over there telling him what we were talking about?”
I shook my head. “Nah, we weren’t talking about shit,” I replied.
“Oh shit, Crown is coming over here.”
