“Hyde proposed to Tori,”Grant said, walking in the door an hour later.

“What?” Diane asked. “When?”

“Not that long ago at a bar near the office. We watched it.”

His wife put her hands on her hips. “And you didn’t think to let me know it was happening?”

“Sorry. We found out when we were leaving. I heard Raina and Ryder talking about it.”

“Because you’re always sneaking around listening to conversations.”

“No more than you do,” he said. “I learned from you.”

His wife always bragged about how she found out everything going on in their kids' lives by listening at their doors.

“That’s right,” she said. “Remember that.”

“I will,” he said.

“Tell me more.”

He told Diane everything that happened. “It was funny. Not the most romantic thing, but it seems to be what they both need in their lives.”

“Romance is overrated,” she said. “If the love is there, it’s all that matters.”

“It’s there,” he said. “Anyone can see.”

“I’m so happy for him,” she said. “Now we can focus more on Jax.”

“Boy, you can’t take a win and give me a chance to breathe, can you?”

“No,” she said. “We can’t let these talents of ours go to waste!”
