She had no words to say back.

Their fun little banter had taken a sharp turn and she lost control of the wheel and didn’t even care if she crashed.

No, she wouldn’t because Hyde would have her. Just like he’d promised.

“I love he speaks his mind too. Leads to some interesting times. You were going to do something?” she asked.

He pulled a ring out of his pocket. “I’m not getting on my knee here. I don’t trust what is on the floor.”

“I don’t want you to,” she said.

He reached for her hand and slid a massive oval diamond on her finger. Holy shit!

“Tori Miller. Will you be my wife and continue to give me shit if I mess up?”

“Only if you’ll be my husband and continue to give me shit if I mess up,” she said.

“I’d say that’s a yes!”

She turned her head to see Grant and Garrett Fierce standing there.

“Did you two follow me here?” Hyde asked.

“We did,” Grant said, moving forward to shake his hand.

“I tried to blow them off,” Ryder said. Raina was right behind the two men who had marched forward first.

“You knew?” she asked her best friend.

“I told them this morning,” Hyde said. “I knew you’d want some pictures of this. A memory. Raina should have gotten them.”

“I did,” Raina said, moving forward to hug her. “I’ll send them to you so you can send them to your father.”

“Thank you,” she said, her eyes filling. Her father was still in treatment and holding his own, but that didn’t mean a lot in terms of a long future.

Hyde had gone to visit with her twice and her father couldn’t be happier over it.

They were getting there.

As for her mother, they weren’t talking much and her mother seemed to finally be stepping up. Tori was going to keep her distance, as they both needed it, but would still be there. She’d never walk away completely, but she couldn’t go back to the way things used to be.

“Congratulations,” Grant said.

“I suppose you’re going to rush home and tell your wives and how you had a hand in this?”

“Nope,” Grant said. “You did this all on your own.”

“Don’t listen to him,” Ryder said. “He’s only saying that to your face but doesn’t mean a word of it.”

“He doesn’t,” Raina said. “But we’re still thrilled for this.”

“Excuse me,” Bryon said. “I remember a year ago you said anyone that spent more than five minutes around him would be nothing more than an idiot. So are you saying you’re an idiot now?”

She turned to Bryon and burst out laughing. Hyde joined in.

“Did you say that?”

“I did,” she said.
