Then there’s Mason, who acts like Collin being back hasn’t turned our world upside down. No, he just keeps fucking club whores and behaving like being on lockdown is normal. Doesn’t even seem like he’s hunting Collin. Hell, it doesn’t seem like he wants any answers. Well, I do. I want to know why he’s back? Where the fuck has he been all these years? Why has done the things he’s done?
“One more round for the table in the back,” Skylar says, removing the empty glasses from her tray. “Can I just say that this lockdown sucks?”
I snort. “I completely agree. This place hasn’t been this busy since we opened and now we have to close early enough to makeit to the clubhouse by midnight. It won’t take long for people to catch on and go somewhere else.”
“That one over there has been hanging out a good bit, though,” Skylar points out. “I think he may have a thing for you.”
I shrug. I’ve noticed him, sure. But with everything going on, I’m not certain I’m in any shape to be thinking about a man. The Fallen Eagles come here pretty regularly. He’s new to their club, from what I can tell.
“I miss my own bed. My own space,” Skylar says, bringing my attention back to our conversation.
“I’m sure Mason would let you and Jake stay home. Isn’t that what everyone else is doing?”
Club members with old ladies and kids had the choice of staying at the clubhouse or checking in from home.
“Jake wants to stay at the clubhouse,” she says, then blurts out, “I’m pregnant.”
“Holy cow! Congratulations!” I rush around the bar and give her a hug.
“I’m scared to death.”
“None of us expected to lose Carson and Lina the way we did but we know who the enemy is now. You don’t have to be afraid. This should be good news.”
“We may know who he is, but it doesn’t mean we know how to defeat him.”
She’s right. The only way to figure that out is to find out what it is that he wants. If Mason won’t ask him, I will.

Mason
Icanvas the city, looking for any sign of Collin. He’s here. I can feel it, but it’s hard to find someone when you have no fucking clue where to look. I can’t figure out why he’s lying low. He made it a point for Taylor to tell me who he was. He was tired of hiding. The asshole wanted credit for the damage he’s done. So what is he waiting for? What’s his next move?
The club is getting restless, and I don’t blame them. The lockdown isn’t easy on anyone, but it’s my job to keep them safe. If I cancel the lockdown and something happens, I’d never forgive myself.
My brother has already done so much damage, I fear the guys are starting to question my ability to lead. He wants my life. Scratch that. He wants the life he believes I stole from him.
“She was never yours, Mason!” Collin yells.
“So that makes her yours? Jesus, Collin, this is Davina we’re talking about.”
Anger radiates through me. I’ve known my whole life that Collin is a loose cannon. I didn’t expect him to do this, though. Not with Davina. The door slams and I know the girl he was with has left. Can’t say that I blame her.
“You don’t get to come in here, fuck up my good time, and act holier than thou, little brother. Davina knows me. She knows I’m not the type of guy to settle down. I’m not going to put a fucking ring on her finger. We don’t have rules in our relationship.”
“What relationship? You fucked her once. Once! Now, you’re acting like she’s your old lady. Like she fucking belongs to you!”
“She does!” he argues.
“No, you just want to string her along, knowing how she feels about you.”
“That’s it, huh? You’re jealous. Jealous because she chose me! Jealous because she’s mine!”
I push that memory away and ride to The Haven, knowing they’re closing. It’s almost curfew. I figure I’ll check in and make sure everything is good before heading back to the clubhouse. A couple in the parking lot catches my attention. I’d know that red hair anywhere. Davina has her arms wrapped around some guy’s neck. Their lips are locked in a heated kiss. I can only describe the feeling that comes over me as jealousy. Rather than stop, I speed past. I don’t know what I’d do if I stopped.
No, I don’t have a right to be jealous. I fuck whoever I want, but damn it, the thought of Davina with another man isn’t something I like to think about.
Is it serious? Has he met Charlie? Why the fuck is she kissing a Fallen Eagle?
