“Well, I love them both. President or not, if you fuck her over, we’re done.”

“Noted.”

I don’t reassure him he has nothing to worry about. Don’t make any promises. I don’t have to. He knows I would never intentionally hurt Davina or Charlie.

But Collin has to go down. If it takes using her as bait to accomplish that, then so be it. None of us will be safe until he’s dead.

Ipurposely bump Charlie’s arm, doing my best to throw off his game. He laughs at my lame attempt, assuring me he’s going to win. And he does. I giggle at his victory dance before he settles back on the couch for a rematch.

“Mom, why did Mason come to breakfast with us? He doesn’t like getting up early.”

“I guess he was hungry.” Charlie gives me this look. This look that says he isn’t falling for it. “And he was at our house and wanted to treat us to breakfast.”

“So, is he like your boyfriend now?”

“Would you be okay with that?”

Charlie shrugs. “He kind of already was. You two just needed to make it official.”

My son figured it out before we did. Why am I not surprised?

“You can’t beat him in this game,” Mason says, walking up behind us. “Munsey showed him all the tricks.”

Charlie grins over at me. I just shake my head, knowing another loss is inevitable.

“I have to run.”

“Okay, we’re going to head home soon. I’m way behind on cleaning and I have a shift tonight.”

Mason leans down and kisses the top of my head before ruffling Charlie’s hair. His actions gain a few curious stares from the guys but no one says anything.

“Can we pick up pizza for lunch?” Charlie asks.

“I swear, you are just like your uncle.”

Who didn’t appear to be happy with me at all.

Iclimb off my bike, hesitant to approach the truck. This doesn’t make

sense. It’s sitting out here on the side of the road. No damage to it. No one around. Just sitting here.

Bishop walks past me, clearly still angry with me. I yell for him to wait but he flings open the door. I half expect the damn thing to blow up or something. When it doesn’t, I breathe a sigh of relief.

We climb into the back of the truck, Hunter and Dash keeping watch. The boxes are unopened but that doesn’t mean Collin didn’t tamper with them. My brother is playing mind games with us.

If we deliver the shipment to the Ravens and the guns have been fucked with, we’ve earned ourself an enemy we don’t want. They have alliances with the L.A. Sinners and won’t hesitate to bring hell to our doorstep if we fuck them over. If we don’t deliver, we lose that partnership as well as the money. We hop down, closing the doors.

“You think he tampered with the goods?” Hunter asks.

“I wouldn’t put anything past him.”
