An incoming text from Hunter interrupts my breakfast with Davina and Charlie. There’s a problem with the shipment. Fuck. We just decided to resume business. First shipment out and we have a problem.
“I have to go to the clubhouse,” I say. “Now. Stay here with Charlie. Hunter is sending Taj, one of the new prospects.”
“No, we’re good. We can go, right, Charlie? You finished?”
“Yep,” he replies with a grin.
I toss some money on the table, ensuring it’s enough to cover the bill and a decent tip, and we head out. Charlie plays on his phone while we ride to the clubhouse.
“Will you stay here while I sort this shit out?”
Davina nods, and I resist the urge to give her a kiss. We need to figure out what it is we’re doing before we go public. I don’t want there to be any drama with Bishop and I sure as hell don’t want Charlie confused. But first, I need to deal with club business.
Hunter sent out the message that we have an emergency church meeting. Some of the guys are still hungover from theparty last night, but no one complains. The club comes first. Hangovers take a backseat.
“I know it’s early and I know some of you probably haven’t even gone to bed yet, but we have a big fucking problem. Our truck was hijacked.”
“The fuck?” Dash responds. “How is that even possible?”
“I’m asking the same thing.”
Hunter answers, “When we showed up at the rendezvous point, the supplier said we’d already picked up. Whoever hijacked the truck had only been gone about five minutes but we didn’t have any luck finding it. You think your brother is behind this?”
I shrug. “No one else comes to mind.”
“Supplier said he had a Bastards cut, so he didn’t question it.”
“So, basically, The Harvester took our damn guns. If we can’t sell them to the Ravens, we’re out of a shit ton of money. He’s trying to bankrupt us and fuck up that business relationship.”
It’s smart. I’ll give it to him. He’s already wounded us by killing our members and destroying the clubhouse. Now, he’s trying to take away our livelihood when we’re already suffering. Money has been tight. We’re screwed if we don’t get those guns back.
We have to draw him out of hiding. So far, we’ve had zero success in doing that. But I think I know how to do it. I have something he wants.Someonehe wants.

“You are not using my fucking sister as bait!” Bishop argues. I can’t say that I blame him. That’s exactly what Mason is planning.
“Okay, I’m sorry. I don’t know what church protocol is, but you called me in here to discuss this. Why is it that you think Collin would come out of hiding for me?”Aside from the fact he already has.
Mason avoids eye contact for a moment, then he finally looks at me and I know that he knows. How is that possible? Has he known all these years?
Anger bubbles inside of me. There are too many damn secrets. I thought I was keeping my own, but he knew. He knew and never said a word.
“Is that why you kept your distance all these years?”
“Everyone out,” Mason immediately orders. Without questioning anything, they all leave, Bishop stealing a glance over his shoulder before he closes the door.
“Answer me.”
If he knew all this time and lied to me, has he lied about knowing Collin was alive? What other secrets is he keeping?
“The past isn’t important.”
“Stop lying! The past is why we’re here!” I cry out, frustrated. “How long have you known?”
“Since the night it happened.”
