The mothkin gave me tea and cookies, and I settled in with them happily. The queen stayed a while longer, making a point to share words and affirmations with each of her sons. I needed to follow in her example one day, as I felt how much this visit meant to them over our bonds, even if they’d never admit it aloud.

However, once she left, I had their full attention. “Well? What was in the box?” Fal prompted.

I took out the bruise salve to show them. “Maybe we should go use this,” I suggested.

“Thank the stars. Let’s go!”

He plucked the pot of salve out of my hand and started for the bedroom. Kauz kept pace, murmuring something that had the dark elf grinning. They both turned looks full of Unseelie mischief back at me.

The pack bond stirred with a signal I didn’t know yet. Marius tilted his head, before smiling too, while Tormund laughed and swept me up. “Let’s go, li’l bird!”

Whatever they’d just decided, I would find out soon enough. I couldn’t wait. I loved my mates, and their Unseelie mischief.
