Walker beamed at me. “Sure.”
I admired him from behind as he turned. The muscles in his back were defined, and I appreciated the sight—I had never considered back muscles being hot, but they were just another item on the list of hot things about Walker Landry.
My alpha.
My insides quivered at the thought.
How the fuck had the fates worked overtime for me to get such an amazing guy?
There had to be a catch.
“Are you rude to waiters?” I asked, cocking my head to the side.
Walker’s hand stilled halfway to my phone, and he turned to look at me, barely holding back a laugh. “I can’t say that I am… though that is an interesting question.”
“Just trying to figure out the catch.” I shrugged. “You seem too perfect.”
“Ah, I’m a control freak, andI think chocolate is overrated.”
“Oh, eww.” I laughed, shaking my head. “I should be offended, but that means more chocolate for me!”
“See, perfect match!”
Turning back to the counter, he picked up the phone and looked at the screen as I pulled his T-shirt over my head. Being naked around him was getting easier. My mind was flip-flopping so drastically, but the multiple orgasms certainly softened me up.
Walker’s body stilled as I brushed my hair out.
“What is it?” I asked, already concerned. “Is Luka okay?” I padded over to him and grimaced when I saw the screen and the text that had just come in.
Walker’s body vibrated with rage as he read it.
Unknown Number: I don’t fucking care. The child is my heir, and it’ll look bad that I’m not bonded to his mother. Stop being a whiny bitch and accept it.
Chapter 21
Walker
“Look, it’s not that bad,” Sunny said as she followed me out of the bathroom, her phone still clutched in my hand. I had thrown on a pair of sweats and nothing else.
There were important things to address.
Like who the fuck was talking to my omega that way.
I glowered right ahead as I barreled toward the kitchen, where Rune and Blaze were eating. My pack mates stared at me in shock, taking in our semi-naked states as I stormed up to them.
“Some asshole is harassing Sunny over text!” I declared, holding the phone up.
“And calls.” As I turned my thunderous gaze on her, she put her palm over her mouth, like she hadn’t meant to say that aloud.
“Sunshine, what’s going on?” Blaze asked.
She was my omega. Why the hell was she getting texts and phone calls like that and not telling me? I needed to know. If anyone was a threat to her, I would take care of it. While I wasn't the most controlling or dominating of alphas, I still wanted toknow of any potential harm to my omega, because I would destroy it in a heartbeat.
She chewed on her lip, not meeting any of our gazes. “It’s Gregory, my ex.” She shrugged. “It’s no big deal, he’ll go away eventually.”
“Luka’s father?” I asked. Her hair was still dripping wet from the shower, and we both stank of sex, so there was no hiding from our pack mates what we had just been up to.
“Not legally,” she muttered.
