I was in love.

Whenever I wasn’t knotting her, I was watching. We all were. It was impossible to look away. For so long, we had dreamed of having an omega of our own, but the reality was so… wonderful. Occasionally, I had to shake myself to remind myself that this shit was real.

We were exhausted, but that didn’t stop us. If we took a break for too long, Sunny would start whimpering in pain again, and the sound of it was painful to us. Our discomfort was only a tiny portion of what she was feeling through the bond. We could sense just how desperate she was, how badly she needed this.

It almost made me feel guilty for enjoying it, knowing that she was in pain when we didn’t knot her quickly enough.

The only time I was apart from Sunny was when I stepped out to check my phone and the cameras to keep an eye on Luka. From what I could see, he was having the time of his life, spending his days with so many family members. Thankfully, a lot of the footage was saved, so Sunny could enjoy watching Luka baking cookies with Kennedy when she was over her heat.

I was bone weary, exhausted, but there was no way I was going to stop helping her. It was our first time helping an omega through her heat, and I was extremely thankful that we, as a pack, had developed almost silent communication from fightingso many fires together. We had been working in sync with hardly any words spoken. Now that we were all bonded to the same omega, our connection was even stronger than before.

Taking a few deep breaths of cool evening air, I turned back toward the carriage house. Given how long I had been checking on everything, it was probably my turn to knot our omega.

Chapter 54

Blaze

“Dude, I don’t think this is going to work.” I laughed as Rune dragged our grumpy little omega into the shower.

He gave me a long-suffering look. “It's been three days, she needs a shower. She stinks of our cum, and she could probably do with brushing her teeth.”

I shrugged, hopping up onto the bathroom counter to watch them. “I'm quite partial to her scent right now.” I was only needling him. We all knew it was a good idea for us to have a quick shower and have a general hygiene break. Heats were disgustingly messy.

Fun, but messy.

Her lemony scent was perfection, but the sweat and grime that came with a heat was not quite as pleasant.

Sunny didn’t seem to like the idea of showering. “Knot!” she whined as Rune carried her into the bathroom.

She had reached the part of her heat when most of her mental faculties had escaped her. She was singularly focused on one thing—getting knots.

And, boy, had she been getting them.

I had no idea that I could come as much as I had over the last three days. I doubted I would have been able to do it with any omega who wasn't my sunshine.

Sunny was gloriously messy. Her hair was sticking up at all angles, and her skin was marred with bruises from where we had been nipping at her skin.

Our girl really liked it when we nibbled or sucked on her skin, which we were more than happy to do, but it certainly left its fair share of marks.

“Come on, Cher. We can knot you after a shower, how about that?” Rune soothed.

She was having none of it. She attempted to pull out Rune's grasp to storm back to the nest, but he held on to her tightly.

“Nope. I am not playing nice. Youwilltake a shower.”

“Knot!” she hissed, clawing at Rune’s arm that was wrapped around her.

The more aggressive, slightly vicious side of Sunny we had witnessed as she was desperate for knots was new, but I didn't mind it one bit. In fact, it was almost funny to see her going toe to toe with Walker. Ultimately, it worked for her because he would always end up buried knot deep inside her as she came all over him, but the arguing was well worth a watch.

“Hey, sunshine!” I said loudly, grabbing her attention. “Maybe if you are a good girl, Rune will knot you in the shower.”

Her eyes widened, and she glanced between the two of us. Rune sighed and gave me another long-suffering look before turning to Sunny and nodding.

She hopped into that shower so damn fast, you would have thought her house was on fire.

Thankfully, she was mated to firefighters.

As Rune was getting distracted knotting her, I offered to join them in the shower and be a good little helper and lather herwith body wash. I only made the offer to help her, not because I wanted to feel every inch of her beautiful skin under my hands.
