I orgasmed hard and fast. Margot’s heel, encouraging me to go deeper and harder, wrapped against my ass.
She whimpered through another orgasm. We clung to each other until our bodies stilled.
I released her onto the pillow, and we fell onto our backs. She looked at me. “Stay a little longer,” she pleaded.
I kissed her forehead. “I really have to get to work. You know I can’t be late at the gate.”
Her lips twisted together. “Caleb?”
“Hmm?”
“Nothing. No. Nevermind.” She pulled the sheet to her chest. “Have a good day.” She blushed. “Honey.”
I knelt beside her, sliding my hand against her cheek. I held her gaze with mine. “I love you, too, Margot.” I kissed her, pulling her lower lip between my teeth. She purred with a low growl. I then rose to my feet.
I walked to the shower without turning back once. I wanted to see the look on her face, but I kept going.
Holy shit.
She surprised me again. The girl got me to tell her I loved her without saying a single word. I turned on the hot water and stepped into the shower.
It just happened. I said the words. They were there, ready to be spoken. I couldn’t take I love you back. I didn’t want to. I don’t know that’s how I expected to tell her.
I washed up. I had to get to the base. I turned off the water and wrapped a towel around my waist. I was trying to get my bearings. I needed coffee and food.
I opened the door. Margot was standing there wrapped in the sheet. “You told me you love me.”
“I did.”
She threw her arms around my neck. The sheet fell to her feet.
“I love you.”
I lifted her in my arms, kissing her roughly. I wanted to take her back to bed and never leave.
I lowered her on the bed. “I have to go.”
She looked up at me with seductive eyes. “You sure?”
I nodded. “Can’t be late. Not with this kind of job.” The consequences were too harsh. A day in bed with Margot wasn’t something I wanted to trade for work punishment. It was a shitty decision to have to make.
I ran my thumb over her lips. “I’ll call you later. We can pick this back up tonight.”
She nodded. “Okay.”
“And good luck with Ethan,” I called as I jogged down the stairs. I ducked quickly before I hit my head on the ceiling.
Maybe by the end of the morning, I’d know why he had traveled a thousand miles to see the woman I was so fucking in love with, I couldn’t see straight.
Gabe walked up behind me just as I clocked in. He clicked his tongue.
“Almost missed it, huh.”
“Shut up, man,” I growled. “I’m on time.”
“Barely.” He pointed to the clock. “By about two seconds. You aren’t staying in your room anymore. Why don’t you give it up to one of the other guys?”
I glared at him. “Because it’s a prime spot. I’m not giving it up.”
