“She’s a feisty little slut,” Sam says. “She will get violent if she’s given the chance.”

“She hits me, and I’ll cut her hands off,” the Russian man says simply. “She doesn’t need hands to lay there and let me fuck her.”

“Amen to that, man. Hawk is actively looking for her and has his entire group helping. Don’t linger.”

“We will be on the jet in the next twenty-four hours,” he says. “Gotta have fun with my new doll first.”

“If she gives you too much trouble, just send me her remains, and I will refund half your money,” Grim adds.

“Oh, she’ll be a good girl. Won’t you, Kukla?” he asks as he lifts my chin to make me look at him.

He is tall and muscular with short, sandy brown hair. He is approximately mid-thirties and, unfortunately, handsome. The way he smiles at me, says that he is a narcissist. His gaze makes me nervous, but when I try to advert my eyes, he grips onto my chin and growls. “Yes,” I whisper.

“Good,” he smiles. “I’m nicer when you are compliant. Remember that, Kukla.”

I nod once and he releases my face so I can drop my head again. I feel so fucking defeated and the look in his eyes tell me that I am never going to escape him. “Get out of here,” Grim says, patting him on the shoulder.

He leads me out of the room and up a flight of stairs with his hand wrapped around my wrist. When we stop at the top, there are several men who meet us. One of them wraps a robe around my body and ties it in a simple bow before they make me step into a pair of sandals. “She is a flight risk, apparently. Hawk isher husband, so we need not linger in the open, so we need to stay underground until.”

“Yes sir,” the man says. “Would you like the go to the jet now?”

The man who bought me lifts my chin again to look at me for a moment before he speaks. “You understand I own you now, yes?” he asks.

“Will I get my tongue cut out for speaking freely?” I ask.

“Depends if you are a bitch or not,” he shrugs.

“I understand I’m never going home again. I don’t like it, and I won’t ever be willing, but I’ve spent my entire life subservient to someone. This is no different than the relationship I was in before Talon.”

“Ah. Logan. He was an annoying little fucker. I hear he’s dead?”

“Yeah,” I say quietly. “They both are.”

“You are unnaturally calm right now, so I’m leery to trust your word,” the man remarks.

“That’s understandable, but I don’t even know your name,” I say.

“Sergei Ivanov,” he remarks before looking at the other man. “Let’s go to the safe house until morning.”

“Yes sir,” he says. I am led outside and immediately pushed into the back of a large SUV. I expect him to attack me immediately, but he doesn’t. He simply hooks my seatbelt and sits on the opposite side. He has an almost gentle nature about him that I know is a lie. Everyone around him has a look of fear hiding in their eyes, and I know that came from somewhere. He is a dangerous man, but he’s not showing himself yet.

The unfortunate part is that I am naturally a peacekeeper. I’m easily persuaded, so it won’t take much for him to break me. As much as I want to think I can fight this, I know I can’t. I’m being moved out of the country, which means the tracker in my arm is fucking useless. I’m already so far away from them since we drove for what felt like forever to get here to begin with.

I stay in completesilence as we drive. I watch the world pass by and everything I’ve ever known disappear. No one touches me, looks at me, or makes me talk. As long as I am compliant and quiet, I won’t get hurt. I’m learning that much. It is so late, and my eyes are heavy. I’m fighting against my body trying to make me sleep. I would’ve taken my sleeping medicine a long time ago, but I don’t have it. I wish I did. I wish I was at home cuddled up with my men.

It hurts to think about them because I know they are devastated. I can’t imagine what Talon is experiencing right now. He has lost so much in this lifetime; I don’t know if he will survive losing me. I know the others will keep him safe though. Maybe he will be determined enough that he will be able to find me.

We come to a stop, and I can feel Sergei looking at me. “Ready, Kukla?” I don’t know why he asked because he simply grabs myhand and pulls me out of the vehicle before leading me inside. We immediately go through a door and down a long flight of stairs. We are underground now, which ensures that they can keep me hidden.

“Get undressed and lay on the bed,” Sergei says simply. For whatever reason, I feel like being a fucking idiot and the words that come out of my mouth are not what I meant.

“No,” I scoff. Sergei slaps me so hard that I hit the ground and my ear is ringing.

“Get on the fucking bed,” he screams at me. Tears well up and spill down my cheeks. I go to stand up and he kicks me in the back. “Crawl.”

This is karma, I suppose. I stay on my hands and knees as I crawl from one end of the room to the other and get on the bed. I expect him to laugh, but he doesn’t. “Good girl,” he says as he pulls my arms above my head to restrain them to the headboard. “Now… how to break you.”

“You won’t,” I say simple.
