Page 60 of Taking Her Medicine

“Zoelle Charlene.” I cleared my throat. “You still haven’t done as I told you.”

“This conversation is more important than standing in the stupid corner.”

Something in my eyes must have shown her a preview of what I’d been poised to do to her, because she suddenly hustled across the kitchen faster than I’d ever seen her move. I followed her anyway since I’d had to repeat myself. I lifted her shirt off of her body, and linked her arms behind her back. Moving my hand to the waistband of her tiny panties, I danced them down to her thighs.

“If your panties hit the floor, kitten, your ass is going to be sore inside and out for our trip home. Believe me when I tell you, you don’t want me to punish you there today. Am I understood?”

Her breath hitched in her throat, as if she wanted to answer me, but her chest lifted and fell without a word coming from her mouth. She dropped her chin to her chest before raising it again. “Is… is it so wrong that I want you to do that to me? That I want you to punish me for being so awful when you’re already working through a terrible issue at work? You just lost your job and all I’m selfishly thinking is how much time we won’t be spending together?”

“I’m already punishing you. You don’t get to decide the how. Do not say mean things about my girl.” I kissed her temple. “Now, answer my question.”

“I understand, Sir.” She swallowed hard. “I’ll stay right here.”

“Good girl. You are worth my time and my attention. If I didn’t think we were worth investing in, Zoelle, I wouldn’t still be here.”

“I’m sorry for throwing my plate.” Zoelle spoke into the wall. “I bought such a cute outfit, and these flavored lubes, and warming massage oils, and… so many other cool things.”

“We can have fun with all of that when we get back home, kitten. I’m going to put away the leftovers and start packing. I’ll be back to check on you.”

“I love you, Daddy.”

“I love you, kitten.”

Zoelle

I had been stuck in my little space for most of the trip home, and the rest of the day when we finally arrived at Aaron’s house. As much as I missed my own home, I wasn’t leaving. Even if he tried to kick me out—though I knew he wouldn’t. He had a lot of scary legal crap to deal with, and I wanted nothing more than to retreat to his couch and watch happy movies while I colored.

“I have a lot of phone calls to make, kitten. But after that we can eat dinner. What do you feel like tonight?”

“We have so much food, Daddy. I can make grilled cheese and tomato soup. Does that sound okay?”

“Yeah, Zoelle.” Aaron tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear, and pressed his lips to my temple. “You’re such a sweet girl.”

“You look really upset, Daddy.”

“I’m just sad we had to leave the lake house early. I’ll make it up to you, sweetheart.”

“Don’t be sad. Please go make your phone calls so you can be done. I’ll be here.”

“All right, kitten. I’ll be in the kitchen.”

I spent the remainder of the week sleeping at Aaron’s house since that had been the original plan. There was still the issue of me being unemployed, and I had yet to do any searching. It was better for my head to take a few more days off before jumping back into my stressful routine. I was lounging on his couch, watching a comedy show on television when the backdoor banged open. I shut off the show and jumped up to meet him.

Aaron picked me straight up off my feet and twirled me around.

“You look so handsome and happy, Daddy. What are we celebrating?”

“Thank you.” Aaron cocked a grin and set me down. I had already complimented him on his suit choices, but I wanted to peel the clothing off of him now. “Naughty little thing. You’ve got that look in your eyes, kitten.”

“Sorry! Tell me your news, please.”

His dazzling cobalt eyes sparkled. “Two things, sweetheart. One—the wrongful death suit was dropped. Once the mechanism of injury report showed the state of their vehicle the family realized there was absolutely no one to blame other than perhaps the person who caused the accident—and even then, it would be a stretch.”

“Oh,Daddy! That’s wonderful.” I nuzzled under his chin. “What’s the second thing?”
