“Wait, really? People actually do that sort of thing?”
“His name is Rufus and he’s blind. His seeing-eye dog passed away this weekend, and he’s waiting for the state to approve a new one. It’s sort of ridiculous, so much paperwork and red tape. I put in a request at the clinic on his behalf. He’s got some medical conditions that need to be closely monitored, so he’s a regular.”
“That’s so sad! I hope he gets a new doggie soon. I can’t imagine having to navigate roads and just…lifewithout being able to see.” Her lower lip trembled. “You’re always so generous with your time, Aaron. You’re the first doctor I’ve met who genuinely wants to help people.”
“You’re very sweet, kitten.” I kissed her cheek. “Let’s see, oh, I helped a new nurse start an intravenous line with a large gauge needle. We had to call an ambulance for this patient who came to us directly instead of going to the hospital.”
“Is that unusual?”
“Sort of. When I was in the emergency department the nurses would use larger gauges depending on what was going on, but it’s not really common outside of it.”
“You had quite the day,” she mused, her voice quavering. “I got mildly disappointed and expected you to just drop all that shit you went through in order to get me on track.”
I tugged her sparkly notebook out of her hands, and jerked her over my lap. I’d had enough of the attitude especially when it seemed like she was comparing our jobs in a bad way, hinting that she wasn’t worthy of my time. I alternated slaps against both of her round, pillowy buttocks, but the message didn’t seem to be getting through with her jeans in place. I unbuttoned and yanked them down to her knees, her lacy purple panties following in short order. A sense of satisfaction filled me as I bared her fully for her correction.
“Please pull up my pants, Sir,” she begged but I turned a deaf ear to her request.
Punishing every inch of her ass with my palm, I admired my pink handprints blooming across her milky white skin. Zoelle thrashed upon my lap, and I scissored a leg across both of hers to minimize her movement. “Stay still, kitten. I’m not done with you yet.”
A long, breathy moan slipped from her lips, and it answered the question ringing in the back of my brain. She needed a spanking, and instead of telling me her need, she’d poked. I glanced around at the items within my reach and spied a television remote. I hefted it in my right hand, feeling the weight of it, and smacked it once against her right bottom cheek.
“Ow!”
I bounced the remote against the lowest curve of that same cheek again, and it resonated with a resoundingthwack. Wanting to leave a lasting reminder for her first punishment spanking, I targeted the soft juncture of her ass and thighs for a few more rounds.
“Please, Sir, it hurts!”
“I’m sure it does, but you made the decision to poke me in the middle of a gratitude session.”
“I wanted you to punish me tonight so I could get these yucky feelings out of my head.” Zoelle wiped her face with the back of her hand and sniffled. “I regret not texting you about it.”
“In the future, I hope this will remind you that you can bring up anything to me.”
“Yes, Sir.”
Abandoning the remote, I finished correcting her behavior with my palm. I struck the fleshy part of her cheeks, down to her sit-spots, and all the areas in between. Her gorgeous behind blushed from my attention, and heat radiated against my hand. The punishment wasn’t overly harsh, but it would leave a lasting reminder. Finally, I tugged her panties to her waist, but pulled her jeans off completely.
Zoelle sobbed into her hands, begging me for forgiveness that she didn’t believe she’d earned. I waited for her to let out a shuddering breath before adjusting her upon my lap. She wrapped her arms around me, pressing her face into the crook of my neck.
“Shh, sweetheart. It’s over.”
“I’m so sorry, Daddy.”
“You’re forgiven.”
“Y-you pulled me over your lap so fast and started spanking me. I thought you were really mad at me.”
Shit.
I’d fucked up by not telling her what I was doing, and yet I had been miles away from mad. “I won’t do that again without properly communicating. I enacted immediate repercussions because I wanted to make it clear that your snarky comments added tension to our gratitude exercise.” I kissed her lips and held her close to my chest. “Don’t ever feel like you can’t ask me to clarify something, kitten. Especially if it’s the reason behind my behavior.”
“I also hated that my list seemed really small compared to the things you did today.”
“The list is supposed to put both of us in a place of thankfulness. We’re not going to nitpick it.” I grabbed her notebook and flipped to the first page, reading aloud from it. “I brought my neighbor’s dog, Lucy, to her home. That’s incredibly important, Zoelle. Doesn’t Lucy have a very special little boy in her life who would be devastated if his puppy didn’t come home?”
“Yeah…”
I looked at the next line, and smiled. “Went for a second walk around the block and bumped into Maude who needed help setting up her new laptop. She’s got great grandbabies who live far away from her. Now she can video chat with them.”
