“I’m not blowing smoke up your arse. It makes sense to pair you. Upper management sings your praises, but I’ve done the research myself. After reviewing the last dozen assignments your track records and proven success rates made the decision all on its own.”
“I don’t want to witness Milly acting in an inappropriate fashion.”
“Neither do I. If something occurs, the human resources manager will dish out some repercussions, right?”
“Yes.” I felt silly for saying such a thing. He was a thousand percent correct. Milly wouldn’t risk her career just to tease him. At least I hoped she wouldn’t risk it. “Are we finished here? I promised a customer an FAQ sheet on one of our upcoming product lines but it’s not going to write itself.”
“In a minute. Come over here.”
Anticipation zinged through me. I didn’t know what he planned on doing, but it sent shivers all along my spine. I stood and met the distance between us. Liam pointed to the center of his desk, and I arranged my body so my upper half lay flush against it. He ran his hand along the back of my thighs until he reached the base of the plug. His fingers tapped against it, rocking my nerves, and it forced a whimper to escape my lips. He dipped lower, brushing the tips of his fingers against my pussy lips, and then he sank them inside my core. I moaned from the unexpected intrusion, and again when he moved them out and repeated his actions. Over and over, he fingered me until he brought me to the edge of an orgasm. I was about to come but he stilled all movement.
“Sir!” I slapped my palms against the smooth wooden desktop. “Please?”
“Please what?”
“Please let me come. I’m legit sorry for questioning your decision. I’ll do whatever you want,” I begged without shame.
“You can do better than that.”
“I acted up this morning, and I haven’t been listening for days.”
“You almost sound sincere. Keep going.”
“I’m sorry about a lot more things.” I wiggled my hips from side to side, aching for a release. “Please make me come, Sir?”
Liam withdrew his fingers and then leaned down until his lips brushed my ear. “I’ll let you come when you do as you’re told. You’ve crossed the line way too many times to be rewarded.” He fixed my skirt and then tugged me to a standing position.
I pivoted to face him but dared not to open my mouth.
“Do you have anything to say to me?”
“Nothing respectful,” I mumbled.
“It saddens me to hear that. I miss my good girl. Where do you think she’s hiding?”
“I don’t know. Did you try hanging up missing person posters to lure her out?”
“If your arse wasn’t still warm from this morning, I’d bend you over again, and let my belt teach you a lesson.”
“At work? I’d imagine that scenario wouldn’t play out so nicely afterward.” Where did this snark come from? Why did I just say that? His eyes widened, and a huge pit formed in my stomach.
“Do you want to rephrase that, love?”
“Not at the moment. Milly is a huge source of aggravation for me personally, and I’m pissed at you for making us collaborate. If you’re quite done chastising me and denying me a release, then I’ll be on my way.”
“Be on your way then.” Liam gestured toward the door, then sat down in his leather executive chair. He unlocked his laptop and got to work.
We were in a professional environment, but I needed to properly apologize. I dropped to the floor, crawling on all fours until my head reached his shins. I ran my hands up over his knees and then rested my palms there. His hand tangled in my hair and he tugged it until my head raised up.
“I’m sorry, Sir. I won’t mix our business and personal relationships at the office. I won’t treat you in such a disrespectful manner again. I can’t process everything in my head right now, but I had no right to speak in such a tone. You told me you made a professional decision, and I’ll honor that.”
“One apology isn’t going to fix this, but I will accept it. I’m not happy with the direction we’re going in. Not when we’re here at work, or outside of it.” He moved his hand to my chin. “I love you, Lacey, but you need to be open and honest with me.”
“I love you more.”
“I’ll let you think that,” he smirked, “but we both know better.”
“Will you call me on your way home tonight?”
