“I’ll get us back on the right path. No matter what it takes to get it through your thick skull. Get me?”
“By taking it out on my thick thighs?” The air sizzled with tension. I’d crossed a line, and we both knew it. Liam took the tablet and then slammed it down on the table. I jumped at the sound as much as the action.
“You’ve lost your privileges. All of them. If you ever want to earn them back, you better think long and hard about your words. When you put yourself down it encourages negative thinking. It also hurts me, because I love you.”
I faltered for a reply. Nothing could explain the hurtful words I’d said out loud. His eyes darkened to the deepest shade of green I’d ever seen. Shit.
“From the time you get out of work tomorrow until you go to bed on Saturday, I will be completely in charge.”
“I requested leave for Friday and Monday,” I mumbled, as if it mattered.
“Right. Then we start tomorrow morning until I say we stop. The timeline is the least important part of this. You’ll have stricter rules, since you’ve disregarded all the others, and harsher punishments. When it’s all said and done, so help me, we’ll be on the same page again.”
“But—”
“Go to bed, Lacey. Now.”
“Why do you care so much?” My voice cracked. “Tell me to leave, and I’ll go.”
“If I were looking for an easy fix. But it won’t make us better, right?”
“No, but I don’t care about making us better anymore because I’m leaving.”
“You don’t make the rules, sweetheart, but you will follow them.” He stepped to me and stripped me bare. “We’ll start tonight.”
“Did you hear what I said about leaving?”
“If you were going to leave, love, you would have done it already.”
“Fuck.” I hated that he was right, but I also loved how well he understood me.
“Look at me, Lacey.”
I did as he asked, but only because I had no other choice. I did not want to be away from him. Ever.
“This,” Liam stroked the knuckles of his right hand from my forehead down to my collarbone, “belongs to me.” He slid his hand lower and pinched each of my breasts in turn, then he did the same with each of my nipples. “These? Are mine.” He trailed down to my hips and around to my butt. “All of this? Mine.” He rubbed up and down my legs, over my knees, then upward to my arms. “Also mine.” Caressing along my mound, he paused to flick one fingertip against my clit. I moaned from the intensity and the devotion behind his touch. “Your body belongs to me. All of it. But so does this.” Liam pressed a hand on either side of my heart and kissed the area in between. “You know what else is true, love?”
“Wha-what?” I swallowed back tears, wondering what the hell he meant.
He yanked his shirt off, then gripped my hands. Tapping all along the identical spots of his body, he stopped when he got to his heart. “All of this is yours. As much as you are mine, I am yours. Get me?”
“Yes, Sir.” I leaned up to kiss his chest, and nuzzled over his heart. I planted soft kisses against his collarbone as my tears trailed down my cheeks.
“I’m glad you understand.” Liam brushed away the wetness on my face. “Go to bed.”
I nodded, and reached for my pajamas but he slapped my hand. Startling, I yanked it back. “Ma-may I have my clothes, Sir?”
“No, you’re naked unless I say otherwise.”
I shook my head; it was a hard limit in the past, one I’d never gotten to explore or explain when he was a million miles away. “You want me to be naked? I can’t be without my clothes.”
“Your body is absolutely glorious, and I’m going to spend every minute we have together this weekend enjoying it. The sight, the taste, the wonderful feeling of your skin against mine. Clothing will just get in the way.”
“You’re pressing against a hard limit, Sir.”
“I’m well aware.” He picked up my clothing from the floor. “However, with the number of rules you’ve broken since I started the relocation process, I’d like you to bend on this one. Will you do that for me?”
I’d do anything for him, and I knew he wouldn’t push me out of my comfort zone without good reason. It was the start of getting us on the right foot. Liam never disrespected me. He never made me feel bad about myself, and I’d said some pretty awful things lately. Finally after a few moments, I nodded. “Yes, Sir. I’ll be flexible. Thank you for loving me.”
“You don’t have to thank me for that.”
I kissed him once more and then rushed off to his room as instructed but I was in an odd state of mind. I was relieved at the thought of him taking over for the next few days, but worried about how hard he might push. All I can do is obey, and hope it gets us back on the right path. I loved Liam with all of my heart and soul, but I had a feeling my limits were going to be tested to the maximum.
