Chapter Seven
Lacey
Liam brought me back to his house after our trip to the mall. I’d shied away in public, and had thrown a hoodie over my earlier outfit. We’d gone to a specialty toy store that only sold stuffed animals. I’d picked out an adorable bunny and named her Lavender. She was a pastel purple with a cute pink bow by her ear. I hugged her while we walked around, and though some people raised their eyebrows at me, my new stuffie made me feel so special! Liam even got me iced hot cocoa with whipped cream. As he had promised, he knew other ways to combat the inevitable caffeine headache and stave it off without more adult coffee drinks. My daddy always knows exactly how to take care of me. He loved and cherished me.
He had more presents for me after we got home including an awesome pajama set and I had put them on after dinner. I twirled around in Liam’s bathroom as I thought about all the times we had. They were the cutest pajamas ever! The tank top and pants were light green and the lettering that said Daddy’s Lucky Charm was a darker shade of green. The top had a four-leaf clover at the end of the letters and the ruffle hemmed shorts also pictured a four-leaf clover strategically placed on my right butt cheek. I got an insta-little feeling when I had put them on. I shook my butt and giggled like a maniac. I can make the clover dance!
“Lacey?” Two knocks pounded against the door. “You’ve been in there for twenty minutes, love. Are you all right?”
“Whoops.” I stuck my tongue out at my reflection and then opened the door. “I love these!”
“You look adorable in them.” Liam took my hand in his. “Come on, it’s getting late.”
“Late?” My adult brain poked at me from out of the blue and I scowled up at him. “It’s only nine o’clock.”
“Yeah, but I’ve got more plans for us tomorrow and they start early. It’s time for you to go to bed.”
“No way. I always stay up late on Saturday night,” I shot back, but then a pit of ice formed in my stomach. I’d been trying to dictate how the weekend should go after I agreed to let Liam kidnap me. I yanked my hand away. “I’m sort of flip-flopping.”
“Right. Well, I’ve got a solution for that.” He took my hand again, but I pulled away again. “Lacey.”
“No! You’ve done all of these amazing things for me today, and I’m wrecking it. Just forget about whatever else amazing you had planned for us tomorrow.” Tears clouded my vision.
“You haven’t wrecked anything, but now there will be a punishment before bed. Go to my room and wait for me.”
“You don’t understand.”
“Oh, I do understand, love.” He speared me with a look then grabbed me around the waist. Liam lifted me up, walked us down the hallway, and turned into his bedroom.
My feet hit the floor, and then I was situated in a random corner. My adorable shorts were yanked down and two hard smacks bounced off each of my cheeks, but I barely felt them. “I’m not in the mood for this. Bring me home, Liam.”
“You’ve got something wicked in that head of yours.”
“A brain?”
“Oh, Lacey girl. Do you know what happens to little girls who get snippy with their daddies?”
“I don’t know. Why don’t you go ask one?” I pictured him clenching his jaw as he decided exactly what to do with me. I was beyond irritated at myself for pushing us down this road.
“You’re going to stand here and imagine the possibilities.” Liam landed a few more hard slaps to my already stinging cheeks, and then tugged my shorts back into place. “I’ll be back and then we’ll address your punishment.”
I didn’t reply, caught up in the guilt of my actions. Everything we did today exceeded my wildest expectation, but he stood me in the corner. All because I had to get mouthy and not follow the rules. Ugh! Why does he put up with my shit? If we were on opposite sides of this dynamic I wouldn’t handle it well. I stuck my face further into the corner as if it would swallow me whole. I counted to one hundred a bunch of times. Why had I pushed so hard? Did I want Liam to try out every punishment he could think of before he returned to Ireland? That was part of it. I’m so worried about losing him. I brushed away tears with the back of my hand and didn’t realize I’d been crying.
I counted to a thousand this time, keeping my brain occupied with anything but my feelings. I repeated the process until my head pounded in pain. I’d have to tell him why I’ve been so jumbled soon, but I didn’t look forward to that conversation. Fuck. How long is he going to keep me in the corner?
“Lacey Charlotte.” Liam cleared his throat. “Spin ‘round, and follow me.”
His voice was laced with authority and the use of my middle name rooted me deeper into my younger mindset. I dashed out of the corner and followed him but as we approached and entered the bathroom, my stomach clenched. “Why are we in here?”
“We’re in here to address your punishment as I said we would. Do you think it’s proper to argue and get cheeky with your daddy?” He unwrapped a bar of soap, and heat flooded my face. “Especially after we spent all day doing fun things?”
“No,” I mumbled with my eyes glued to the bar. His intentions were crystal clear and I was miserable at the thought. Liam grabbed a washcloth, wet it, and worked up a lather to form suds. “Can’t you just spank me instead?”
“Spank you instead of scrubbing out your naughty mouth? No. In addition to? Absolutely.”
Wicked butterflies fluttered through my stomach from his answer. He held the cloth up to my mouth. I wasn’t eager for his punishment but I wanted it to be done. I opened for him and he soaped my tongue. Tears poured over my cheeks and mingled with the bubbles until I drooled. I’m an absolute mess.
“If you want us to enjoy the sort of time we had together today again, you’ve got to respect the rules, Lacey.”
