“You know I could see you,” her split tongue runs over her teeth. “Every time. Every thrust, every pant, every release that you put on in front of my buttons, I saw them all. So you can play the victim all you wantBoogeyman, but I watched you relieve yourself to my thoughts. I’ve watched you as youfuckedmy creations. You say I repulse you, that you could never love me, and yet,” she motions to Blue who is weakly trying to stand. “You seem to have a fascination for the things I create.”
“Blue might’ve come from your hands,” I snarl, getting into her face. “But she iseverythingyou’re not. She’s smart, kind, caring, beautiful—plus I actually like fucking her.”
“Ha!” She laughs while shoving me back into Havoc’s iron-like grip. “This,” she grips Blue by her hair. “This is what you call beautiful? A pile of scraps? She was meant to be shipped out to a second hand store with the humans. She was trash I needed to get rid of as I couldn’t even rely on her to be a toy! She has failed every task given to her, including getting killed by you in Nightmare!” She toys with Blue’s loose hair as she struggled to free herself. “I shouldn’t be surprised though, of course my twobiggest failures would find comfort in each other. I guess you could say, you two have mommy issues.”
“Fuck you,” Blue wheezes as she grabs the Spinster’s wrist and drags her nails down it. The Spinster hisses in pain and shoves Blue off, before yanking free the chain that was hanging from around her neck and between her breasts. The Spinster forcefully lifts and shoves Blue onto the table as I fight against Havoc’s hold, trying to help her.
“I’m going to kill you Havoc, do you understand me!” I bark as Havoc laughs, enjoying this way too much.
“Hush bug! Watch the show!” She cheers. The Spinster grips something at the end of her chain, palming what appears to be a silver stitch remover.
No.
“Where is it,” the Spinster hums, her button eyes roaming over Blue. “Where is the thread that binds you two, hmm?” Her needle-like fingers search Blue’s body as she kicks , the Spinster pins her leg down. “Ahhh...” She smirks as she lifts the tattered hem of Blue’s dress, revealing my name. “You always were a leg man.” Her sinister grin grows, a soft laugh escaping her dead lips before placing her tool over my stitch and cutting the F of my name.
“No!” I scream as Blue sobs, thrashing around, a sudden pain in my own thigh.
She continues to slide the sharp edge of the tool under the thread, snipping the letters as Blue and I both cry out in pain.
“Please! Stop, Spin—Creator!” I pant out, causing her to stop her movements before she can finish. She pulls her remover from Blue’s leg and walks over to me.
“Ohhhh... .” She purrs as her tongue runs over my jaw causing bile to run up my throat. “I bet that one stung didn’t it?” Stepping back she considers me before reaching in her pocket. My eyes fall to the red dice in her hand. My dice.
“Shall we play a game?” She whispers, leaning in real close.
“No,” I breathe out, startling us both.
“No?” She laughs in shock. “Since when do you not want to play a game?”
“If it involves Blue, I’m not playing.” I grit out. She laughs and shakes her head.
“Hmmm… interesting, very well.” She releases a sigh as she drops the dice on the ground, causing them to roll toward my feet. “Havoc, he doesn’t want to play so I guess, I win and we kill them both.”
“Wait, what? Stop! No!” I grip Havoc by the neck and flip her over me, her body moving in such a way it dislocates my shoulder in the process. “God damn cocksucker!” I grind while glaring at the Spinster.
“Stop. Not her.” I beg.
“Hmmm... yes, her. In fact, I’m going to kill her first, in front of you.” She turns to grab Blue, but I grab the dice and run to the Spinster.
“Okay! Okay! I’m here, okay. See?” I look at Blue, holding my dice, hoping she can feel how sorry I am, how much I love her. “Okay, I’ll play.” Havoc cheers as the Spinster smiles.
“Havoc told you bug would play.” I swallow my growl as the Spinster watches me.
“Odd, you win and the two of you can be together forever,” the Spinster smirks. “Even, I win and you’re both dead. And snake eyes,” her buttons flicker as her black brow raises. “You roll snake eyes and you belong to me, forever. You are mine, andsheis banished to the Nightmare to be hunted for eternity just as you were.”
“Firefly,” Blue whispers my name and I want to cry. Taking a breath, I hold my hand out, desperate to save her.
“Deal.” I state. The Spinster takes my hand in hers and we’re locked—neither able to break the hold until the dice roll our fate.“But know this,” I growl, “No matter the outcome of this game, I willneverlove you.”
I throw the dice and listen as the sharp corners hit the ground and I pray, for the first time in forever, not for an odd or even. No, I want snake eyes. She may think I’m stupid, but I see right through her tainted words. It’s the only option that the words can’t be misconstrued; Blue lives if I roll snake eyes. I’ll never see her again, but she lives and that’s all I want.
“Eight!” Havoc squeals and my heart sinks. The Spinster cocks her head to one side as her smile is one of fondness.
No.
“What a shame. I’ll miss our games,” she whispers, running her free hand along the side of my cheek. “But all good things must come to an end.”
“Bug loses!!!! Dolly will be in all the pieces!”
