“I’ve seen videos online, and I don’t think it’s just on the ice,” I sigh dreamily, focusing on the towering figure in the net below us.

It’s absolutely a lie. Hopefully, Jamie will be too flustered to think too much about the details of what I’m saying.

Adalyn groans and brings a hand to touch the window. “Ooh! Look, he’s taking his helmet off. Oh, my God. Spraying water on your face shouldn’t be so hot.”

“Do you think he doesthatoff the ice?”

“I sure hope so. Damn, that’s sexy.”

It’s hard not to laugh at how terrible of a job we’re doing. This sounds like the opening of a porno more than an attempt at making a grown man jealous, but?—

A large, hot palm presses to my spine before travelling up and toying with my hair. With a look over my shoulder, Jamie’s scowl appears. His eyes are a deeper shade of blue than usual, and my breath skips as arousal warms my belly.

“What an interesting conversation you’re having, Bandit. It’s almost like you were admiring the men down there.”

“That’s because she was, Jam Jam. Considering how stubborn football players are, maybe she was right about preferring hockey after all,” Adalyn taunts, shooting me a wink that Jamie’s too busy staring at me to catch.

He curves me to his side and brushes a kiss across my temple. “Blakely knows very well that being stubborn is one of my best qualities but not the strongest.”

“I can only imagine that you’re referring to being thick-skulled. You always could take hits to the head better than anyone else.”

“Adalyn,” Cooper drawls, joining us with an amused crook of his lips.

The man with the whole dirty-professor thing going on keepsone hand tucked into his slacks while the other holds his wife’s hip.

Adalyn grins at his presence and bats her eyes up at him. “Yes?”

“You’re causing mischief again.”

“Oh no. Am I?”

He chuckles and glances at me, offering a sympathetic look that has my brows lifting. When he only darts his eyes to Jamie, I put the pieces together.

Addie pats me on the arm and then yanks her husband’s hand out of his pocket so she can hold it. “Well, have fun. My job is complete.”

Jamie grunts in response, not so much as blinking while he watches me. I nip at my cheek and try to ignore him as the other couple leaves us here alone. The hockey game is in full swing, and while I can’t make out who’s who from up here, I know that Maddox is in one of the red-and-black jerseys.

Warm breath tickles my ear when Jamie flattens his hand to the window and leans close, making sure I feel every inch of his chest against my arm. “If you wanted to make me jealous, you didn’t need to bother with Addie. Seeing you standing here looking down on the ice is more than enough.”

“You’re being ridiculous, Jamie,” I declare breathlessly.

“Maybe. I tend to get this way when it comes to you.”

“I can prefer hockey over football but love you most of all.”

“If you want me to spray water into my face, that can be arranged. The only thing I can’t do for you is the splits. I prefer to spend my time spreading your legs instead.”

I gulp, my lashes fluttering. “I get your point.”

“No, I don’t think you do. Not yet.”

“What do you mean?”

“We’re leaving in ten minutes. I don’t feel like lingering.”

I turn my head, bringing my cheek to where his lips are waiting. “And if I wanted to stay?”

“Oh, I bet you fucking do, baby. I’ll make it up to you.”
