“And why would I do that?” I grin.
“Because you want to,” he says, giving me his signature smile.
That smile makes me fucking melt. He’s right. I want to. I return a smirk of my own and nod my head.
“Good. I’ve got to get back to work, I only stopped to drop off the flyers and then I saw your car and I had to say hi. You look amazing today, by the way.”
“Thank you.”
“No, thank you,” he says and walks to the back just as Mindy rounds the corner with the grand opening flyers in her hand.
“Whoa boss,” Mindy says, barely avoiding colliding into Cass when he walked through the door.
“What was that about?”
“A date, maybe? I’m not really sure. I didn’t get the details because I was too excited that he asked me to meet him tonight.”
“That sounds interesting. You have to give me all of the juicy details later,” Mindy says, grabbing the stack of flyers. She walks around the bar, keys in hand, and kisses my cheek.
“I’m out of here. Have fun tonight.”
“Oh, I will.”
The day drags on. I came back home to sit on my couch and relax while waiting patiently for the day to pass. I’m excited that he invited me to see him tonight, but I’m aggravated thathe automatically assumed I would show up. Maybe I’m that transparent. I hate that he was right, most of all. I spend most of the day on the couch and at five o’clock, I take a quick shower and freshen up my makeup. I don’t know what he has planned, but whatever the occasion, I will be dressed to impress.
I opt for the same black lace underwear that Cass keeps ripping off of me so easily, a black mini skirt and I pair it with a one-shouldered long-sleeve black shirt with holes down the sleeve. I check my look in the mirror. Perfect. Now to style my hair. Whatever Cass’s plans are, he isn’t going to be able to keep his hands off of me for long. I smile at the thought of his expression when he sees me tonight. Mindy was right, I have to live a little and not worry so much.
I make it to Creek’s just before seven. Cass’s pretty blue bike is parked by the front porch. Cass is dressed in dark blue jeans, black boots, and a black shirt with purple and gold lettering on it that I can’t make out beneath his cut, and he has on the same hat he wore when I met him in Houston.
The sight of him standing there, looking so fine, has me tingling between my thighs. I could rip his clothes off on this porch, right now. No. Stop. Focus. It’s hard to think straight when he’s walking around looking like that. I make a mental note to check for drool when I am able to tear my gaze away from him.
“Hello, Miss Summers,” Cass says as I approach the front porch.
“Hello, Mister Sonnier.” I walk up the stairs until I’m nose to nose with him. I feel cat-like, sexy and seductive. I place a hand in the center of his chest and press lightly until his back is against the wall.
“You wanted to see me?” I whisper.
“Yes ma’am.” He grabs me by the hips and lifts me up.
“Hey, now. I was in charge,” I protest. But as soon as my legs wrap around his waist, I no longer have any thoughts of rebellion. He carries me inside through the door and locks it behind us.
He sets me down and takes a step back, sizing me up. “You look like a fucking model right now.”
“Thank you. You look pretty hot yourself,” I say.
He walks back over to me and spins me around. Placing a soft kiss on my shoulder, he grips my hair and pulls ever so slightly, giving him access to my neck. He peppers soft kisses from my collarbone to my ear before stopping and letting go. I turn around to face him with a pout on my face. Cass laughs at me, not the reaction I’d hoped for.
“Oh, now that is too fucking cute,” he says, trying to stifle a laugh without much success.
“Come see, I have something for us.”
He leads me to the back of the bar. I enter the lounge area to find dinner is set up on the dining table with a candle in the center of it. He pulls a chair out for me and kisses my temple before walking around the table to take a seat.
“I wanted to have dinner with you tonight for a few reasons. We’ve yet to have a meal together, we’ve yet to be on an actual date, and I wanted to see you before I go out of town tomorrow.”
Dinner is a ribeye steak, baked potato, and steamed broccoli served with a side of ranch.
“How’d you know I’d need ranch?” I ask, surprised, though nothing from this man should surprise me anymore.
