“Ha, ha, smartarse.” His frown disappeared. His eyes grew big and his dimples popped. He was gorgeous. My heartrate picked up and I sighed in contentment. I knew my man would doanything for me.
Brand drove to a Macca’s and went through thedrive-thru. Stephan took forever to order as he didn’t know what hewanted. We were honked from two cars back, but Stephan didn’t care,he took his time.
Stephan bought enough food to feed an army.“There is no way you’ll eat all that.”
He shrugged. “I know, but I don’t know ifI’ll like some of it so I got a bunch to try.”
Shaking my head at his wastefulness I ate mycheeseburger and fries.
Brand drove us to a new estate. “I’ll showyou the neighborhood first, before we go to the house.”
“Sounds good,” I said. Stephan grunted nextto me.
The houses around were big, but not asmassive as the ones we’d been looking at. We drove for a good tenminutes before Brand parked in front of a house at the end of thecul-de-sac. It was single story house, dark beige on the outsidewith a two-car garage. The front door and garage were brown. Thefence was high but blended in well. The white gates with the lushgreen garden surrounding it made the house straight away feel morehomey then a prison. I liked what I saw so far.
I was eager to see more. I got out of the caronly to be stopped by Owen. “Stay close. I haven’t swept thisone.”
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
“Owen, no one knew until about just over halfan hour ago we were coming here.”
“Princess, a lot can happen in thattime.”
I sighed, not only did I hate the name theyhad for me, I knew I’d never win if I argued. “Fine. I’ll stayclose.”
Glancing around I looked for the realtor we’dbeen with, but I couldn’t see his car. “Where’s the dick we’ve beenwith? I knew he would have had to get the keys, but we detouredtwice with food and looking around the neighborhood.”
Brand and Owen chuckled. Stephan came to meand wrapped his arms around me gathering me to him. “The carpulling up now will be the real estate agent. ”
I turned to see a red sports car, not theblack BMW. Had the guy changed cars? A woman in her late forties orearly fifties got out of the car, she wore a black suit. She cameover with a smile on her face.
“Hi. I’m Susan Randal. I believe my associateshowed you the other properties.” She held her hand out to mefirst.
I liked this realtor.
Shaking her hand, I smiled. “Nice to meetyou. I’m Jade.”
“Hi, Jade.”
Stephan shook her hand. “Hi, Mrs. Randal, I’mStephan, Stephan Silverman. The two men with us are oursecurity.”
I glanced over to see both Owen and Brandgive a slight nod of acknowledgement.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Silverman, and pleasecall me Susan.”
“Thanks, Susan.” I smiled at her.
“Well now that the introductions are out ofthe way, let’s go look at the house.” Susan pulled keys out of herpocket and used them to open the gate.
Owen went first and we followed him. Thegarden was established with large shrubs and a colorful garden offlowers. The front yard was a decent size.
“The house is just over five years old andthe previous owners have only just moved out as they movedoverseas.” We followed Susan. She opened the door and again Owenwent in first.
We entered into a hall with grey tiles. Thewalls were beige and darker skirting boards. We walked down and itveered in two directions. We went right and came to a huge openplan kitchen, dining room, and behind us a lounge room. Then wewalked further down passed the nice size kitchen with granitecountertops, stainless steel appliances, and white wooden cupboardsto a decent size family room. Going back we took the other routecoming out to a door and hall, opening the door we stepped downinto a large dark room with only one window, it was theentertainment room. My excitement grew the more I saw. This housewas wonderful. We left the entertainment room and walked furtherdown the other hall and saw two decent size rooms, a study and thelast bedroom was huge with an en suite, and walk-in wardrobe.
Susan talked about the house but I didn’treally listen. I was too busy dreaming, the house was perfect. Ilet go of Stephan’s hand and explored. The more I looked the more Ifell in love. This was my dream home. This house was more than Icould ever hoped to have. I loved it.
Without realizing, I was bouncing aroundleaving everyone behind me. The house had a homey feeling. Youcould move into it and it wouldn’t feel like a show home. Goingback to Stephan I grabbed his hand and Brand’s pulling them to theback door. I couldn’t wait to go the outside. I prayed it had abackyard for Fido. They both laughed at me, but I didn’t care.
