“Hmm.” I swayed my head from side to side. “I’ll think about it.”
Shiloh’s brows jumped up his forehead.
“Really? Every other time I asked you about moving down here, you always said no.”
I glanced at Frankie on the dancefloor, turning up with the bride and other women associated with the club. Aside from waiting to get back to doing hair consistently, Frankie craved a family unit. I knew I could provide that in Blackstone, yet I thought it wouldbe easier to obtainin Silk Hills.
The party went on for another two hours beforeI was drunkoff my ass. Durk made sure food and drinks stayed in rotation, and Ididn’t turn anythingdown. I did my best to allow Frankie to flow around the party without me following her like a lost puppy, but after awhile,I snuck up on her in her favorite spot—the dancefloor.
“Are you enjoying yourself, Nugget?”
“Look atyou.” Frankie snickered. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you drunk.”
“I’m not drunk,” I slurred. The sound of my shaky voice made me laugh. “I’m good.”
As we two-stepped to the dancefloor, I spun Frankie in a circle. She looked like she was on Cloud Nine when she wrapped her arms around my neck. I could tell by her heavy eyelids I wasn’t the only one who had a few drinks.
“Your family is pretty dope. I definitely have a newfound love for SilkHills.”
“Oh, yeah? What do you think about moving down here?”
“To Silk Hills?” She cut her eyes to the floor. “I’ve never thought about it. I’ve lived in Blackstone my whole life, but I can’t think of many reasons to stay.”
“Don’t worry about it. It was just a thought.”
She tilted her head to the side as she licked her lips.
“What else have you been thinking about?”
My hand glided down her back until I palmed one of her fat ass cheeks.
“I think you trying to get into trouble. You sure you ready for that, baby?”
“I’m think I’m ready to find out.”
Frankie
“Frankie, are you still cooking? It’s almost ten.”
My shoulders crumpled hearing Clover remind me I had been in the kitchen for hours.
Since Durk’s engagement party, she called me a few times a week. Considering me and Sammi still hadn’t spoken, Clover’s kindness restored my faith in having girlfriends.
“I’m almost done with everything. I’m so nervous, I don’t have an appetite.”
Clover grinned into the camera. “You don’t have an appetite for food because you’re hungry for the dick!”
I giggled at the accurate observation.
“You’re giggling, but you’re not denying it,” she acknowledged.
I lifted a shoulder. “Because then I would be lying. I’ve made Draco wait long enough. Tonight is the night or whatever Betty Wright said.”
“By thewayyou two were all over each other at the party, I still can’t believe you guys haven’t taken things to the next level. I think it’s beautiful that you guys waited for each other.”
I talked to my new homegirl until my homemade dinner rolls were ready then I went to take the longest shower of my life. Once I was done, I put on a red bra and panty set, and laid across the bed, looking and smelling good. I did not know what time Draco would be back, but I wanted to be ready when he walked through the door.
To kill time, I found a movie to watch. After the second one, I snatched my robe from the bed and went downstairs to put the food away. Although Iwas frustratedwith the way the night was going, I was more worried than anything.
