She rolled her eyes as I placed her back on her feet. “You’re a hater. You know I look good.”

“Yeah, because you’re on my arm.”

We went back and forth, talkingshituntil a young girl with pigtails and a polka dot dress approached Frankie.

“I like your purse!” She smiled, pointing to the small bag wrapped around Frankie’s wrist.

Slowly, Frankie leaned forward and tickled the little girl under her chin. “Thank you, beautiful! I like your shoes. Mary Janesareone of my favorites.”

I admired the way Frankie dealt with the little lady. She was a natural nurturer. Without missing a beat, Frankie began removing everything from her bag and putting it in her pockets.

“Here, pretty. Take it.”

The little girl jumped in place. “Are you serious? Thank you!”

“Yeah, we appreciate it.”

The familiar voice invaded our innocent moment. A grimace rearranged my face when I saw Kash gesture for the dimple-faced cutie to come to him.

“Hey, Daddy!” She glanced up at Kash. “Look what the lady gave me. Isn’t she pretty? Her skin looks like that model. You know her name.”

Boldly, Kash eye fucked Frankie before mugging me. “Yeah, she’s gorgeous. Maybe daddy can take her out.”

“Daddy, you can’t do that. She has a boyfriend.”

I laughed. “It sounds likebabygirl is more observant than her elder. I don’t know why you would try me when the last time… you remember what happened.”

Kash wagged his finger like an old man. “You right. I haven’t forgotten. I still plan to pay you back for that.”

“You better hurry up before I beat you to it.”

Frankie stepped in the middle of me and Kash.

“Gentlemen, there are ladies around. Maybe everyone should go back to their friend groups.” She winked at the little girl. “Have a good day, lovebug.”

“You too.” She beamed as she followed her dad.

As they walked away, my brothers strolled over to me and Frankie.

“What the hell are they doing here?” Zo groaned.

I shrugged. “No telling. This is a community event. A lot of clubs are here.”

“Right, but why is thatniggain your face?” Quadir quizzed.

“Because he wants to lose his life.”

Frankie’s eyes shot up to me. “Don’t do that! That little girl needs her father.”

“And you need me! I knowyou heard that nigga threatenmy life.”

“Draco, I?—”

“Don’t need to talk about this,” I interjected.

Frankie smacked her lips and pulled at one of her ponytails. “Whatever. I’m going to get lemonade.”

Since she already had an attitude, I waited until I was certain she couldn’t hear me before I faced my brothers.
