Page 50 of Bleed for Me

Cheyanne glanced between the three of us, confusion twisting her features. “I’m going to go check out the snacks,” she decided, placing a hand on Rosalie’s bicep and squeezing. “Find me when you’re done?”

Rosalie nodded, not taking her eyes off us for a second, afraid that if she did, we might pounce on her. Maybe she was smart to be alert. Absentmindedly, she lifted the cup to her lips andtilted it back. Her eyes widened momentarily as she tasted the screwdriver I’d made.

“This is actually really good,” she admitted in surprise.

For some reason, that inflated my ego a little. Her lips were wet from the drink and for a moment, just amoment, I wanted to lick the excess from her mouth. When I tore my gaze away and glanced over at Archer, he was already watching me. A hunger in his eyes as if he knew exactly what I was thinking, and for some reason, that made my cock stir to life.

“I need a drink,” I mumbled. I made my way over to the drink area and poured vodka in a cup for myself, downing it all in one go. The liquid burned my chest, making me gasp out from how long it had been since I’d last indulged myself.

Leaning against the table, I watched the two of them talk. She seemed more comfortable around him. It wasn’t in her face, but in her body posture. What had he done to her to make her subconscious trust him? Have they just spoken a lot? Has he touched her? Did she let him? My pulse thundered in my ears as I turned my back on them and fixed myself another drink.

“Nice party,” Alina complimented, pulling me from my inner turmoil. Rachel stood at her side as usual.

Ignoring them, I took a long drink of my beverage, the alcohol warming the inside of my body and helping to put me at ease. My mind was a mess. All I could think about was what did Rosalie have that was so interesting to him? She was pretty, had a nice body, but what else was there? Did all of this stem from sexual attraction? Sighing, I glanced up at the sky, the trees blocking most of it from view. Maybe it was the fact that shewasa virgin. But if that was the case, why allow me to be her first? That didn’t make much sense.

Alina glanced over at Archer, where he stood talking to Rosalie. Her eyes narrowed with jealousy that was so potent, I could feel it. I snorted into my cup before consuming anothermouthful, reveling in the burn it inflicted on my chest. Turning back to me, her gaze raked over me as if she were contemplating something.

“Don’t even think about it,” I spoke dryly. “I wouldn’t fuck you if you were the only option available.”

“But you’d fuckher?” Rachel intervened.

I snapped my head in her direction, my eyebrows tugging together in confusion. “What?

She rolled her eyes as if I were toying with her, but I genuinely had no idea what the hell she was talking about. “We saw you checking her out when we came over here,” she accused.

Realization seared through me, and it was enough to almost make me laugh. I hadn’t been looking at Rosalie. I was looking at Archer. But they could think whatever they wanted to.

When I didn’t say anything, Alina released an annoyed huff. “Are you just going to ignore us?”

I was in no mood for this bullshit. It didn’t matter who I checked out; they weren’t even interested in me. Alina liked Archer, and Rachel liked Jordan. They were just trying to stir shit up and I wanted no part of it.

My gaze drifted back to Archer who was on his way toward me. A sigh of relief expelled from my lungs, thankful that he was coming to save me from these crazy bitches. He bypassed me and started fixing himself a drink before taking up the spot beside me.

As if sensing the tension, his eyes darted to the twins. “Problem?” he asked, lifting his cup to his lips and taking a large swallow.

“Not at all,” Alina snipped in an icy tone. “We were just?—”

“Leaving,” I finished for her.

Rachel stared at me like I’d grown a second head. “You’re joking.” Glancing at her sister who was just as shocked as she was, she returned her attention to us.

“Does it look like I’m fucking joking. Get the fuck out of my face or I’ll make you go back to the asylum.”

Alina took a menacing step forward, rage radiating off of her in waves. “And what makes you think we won’t snitch on you?” she demanded.

I rolled my eyes, not at all phased by her little threat. She’d be one dumb bitch to cross us, and she knew that. “You do that, and then you won’t live to see another day,” I answered monotonously.

Rachel grabbed Alina by the arm and attempted to tug her backwards. “Let’s just go,” she muttered. Alina hesitated, but after a few moments, relented and allowed her sister to pull her away.

“Fuck,” I muttered, shaking my head.

Archer snorted in amusement. “They piss you off that badly, huh?” he asked.

I shot him a look which made him laugh. “They accused me of checking out Rosalie.” I grimaced, though it was more for dramatic effect than anything.

“Were you?” The heat in his gaze made me want to say yes, but it would have been a lie. Not that I hadn’t checked her out earlier this evening, but I’d been checking him out more.

I shook my head.
