“Not really,” I say. Just ignited a mob brawl, fled New York, got forced into marriage, fell deeply in love with my arranged husband, enjoyed countless shattering orgasms, and now I’m living with the man of my dreams. All in all, quite a summer.
Livy isn’t really listening to my answer anyway. She keeps craning her neck and searching the room. “Have you seen Nico? I just haven’t seen him in a while and I thought maybe I’d see him here but I don’t see him.”
Sweet girl. Rather a challenge to have a conversation with.
“I’m not sure when he’ll be back,” I tell her gently.
But I do know the whereabouts of the other Castelli brother. Monte walks in, immediately searches me out, and flashes a sexy grin that always makes my heart pound.
Everything and everyone becomes background noise and there’s only him as I jump to my feet and eagerly raise my arms to get swept up in his fierce hug. No matter how many times we kiss I’ll always be excited for the next chance to feel his mouth on mine.
Monte doesn’t know how to be shy and he uses his tongue freely. Within seconds I’m ready to beg him to carry me upstairs, bend me over the first convenient piece of furniture and tear my panties off. We’ve done that before. Highly recommend the experience.
But for now I simply snuggle against his chest and say, “I missed you,” while relishing the way his big arms surround me.
“Missed you too.” He plants a kiss on the top of my head.
“Is Nico with you?” Livy asks, ever hopeful.
Monte finally notices there’s company at my table. He glances at Rochelle with a brief scowl but becomes less unfriendly when he answers Livy. “Nico had some things to take care of,” he tells her.
“Let it go already, Liv,” Rochelle says and rolls her eyes. “It’s not like you can expect the Castelli boys to keep their dicks zipped up. Everyone learns that lesson sooner or later.”
I can feel Monte stiffen with anger. He would have snapped back with an insult by now but he’s looking at me with some concern, as if I might care what some resentful witch with shitty manners says about him.
Not a chance.
Normally, I’m not mean. But this girl once hurt Sal’s feelings by insulting his food. She looks at Monte like he’s property that’s been stolen from her. She wants him and she can’t ever have him. He’s mine.
I hook my arms over Monte shoulders and press my body closer. “Baby, when is our romantic getaway happening again?”
He knows what I’m doing and his mouth twitches with amusement. “Next weekend. We’ll drive up to the cabin Friday night. Don’t bring too many clothes. You won’t need them.”
“Where are you going on your trip?” Livy asks with innocent curiosity while Rochelle’s nostrils flare.
“Monte’s family has a cabin in the Catskills.” I trace the shape of a heart on his shirt. “I do need to bringsomeclothes, honey, because I want you to take me to that carnival you told me about. What’s the town called again? The name was so cute.”
“Cherrytown.” He grins down at me. “They always have their annual carnival the weekend before Labor Day so we’ll go Saturday night. When Nico and I were kids our dad used to drive us up there.”
“I’m sosoexcited to be sharing your traditions with you.” I reach up to kiss his neck. “You’re always so good to me and I’m the luckiest girl ever.”
He cracks up at my intentionally corny but highly accurate words. Then he gets serious and seizes a handful of my hair before crashing his mouth down on mine for a prolonged encounter with his tongue.
Rochelle has seen enough. With a loud scrape of her chair against the floor, she pushes away from the table, snatches Livy’s arm and drags her off like a ragdoll.
“Bye, Sabrina,” Livy calls while she’s getting manhandled out the door. “Tell Nico I said hi.”
I wave my hand at her but I refuse to stop kissing Monte.
He snickers against my mouth. “Someone’s in a sassy mood.”
I kiss him once more. “You look hungry. Eat something and I’ll take you on a trip upstairs to show you howsassyI can be.”
“Deal.” He plants a final kiss on my lips just as Sal walks over with two slices of Monte’s favorite sausage-topped pizza.
Monte’s father drops the plate on the table, flashes a happy grin at us, and then returns to the counter.
I love this part of the day; when we catch up and relax and enjoy each other’s company. I’ve never had this before and I don’t ever want to lose it.
