Tammy catches me staring at her, eyeing the plump curve of her ass beneath the soft fabric of her shirt. Her lips part slightly, and my blood instantly goes hot like the pistons of my bike. Even after all these years together, I still react the same way when Isee her. I may be thirty-five, but when I’m around her, I’m like a horny teenager.
“Hey, Ryder,” I say firmly. “Take your sister and go play in the living room.”
Tammy’s eyes flash, and she shoots me a questioning look. Ryder twists his lips in annoyance, and Lily lets out a dramatic sigh. “But Daaaaaaaaaaaad,” she whines, stomping her tiny heels against the floor. “I’m crashing my motorcycle!”
I give her a look, reminding her that I’m her father. “You can crash your motorcycle in the other room, darling. And try crashing it intoanothermotorcycle, and not the wall. Okay?”
She nods as Ryder takes her hand and leads her out of the kitchen. The second they’re gone, Tammy plants a palm on the counter and shifts her hips, doing her best imitation of a scolding glare. “You can’t just kick the kids out whenever you wanna get all primal caveman on me.”
I stand, dragging my eyes up her beautiful body. “Yeah? Says who?”
“Says me,” she counters, raising her chin, doing her best to be defiant while a smile creeps over her lips.
I cross the room in three quick strides and place both of my hands on either side of her, pressing my body against hers and pinning her up against the cabinets. “And I’m just supposed to listen to you?” I tease, my voice filled with heat and desire.
She takes a deep breath, her fingers tracing the lines of my chest. “Saxon, the kids–”
“I know.” I smirk, slipping a hand up her shirt to cup her perfect breast. “I know I can’t have the whole meal right now, baby. But you were standing there, looking so appetizing that you’ve got my mouth watering, and I just needed a taste.”
Tammy smiles, leaning her head against my shoulder. “Since when did you become such a poet?” she whispers.
“Since always,” I joke back. “I just never revealed it to you.”
“Always learning new things,” she breathes softly as I trace her soft back with my fingers.
“Can you believe it’s been five years?” I ask, filling my lungs with her scent. “Five years and I want you more and more each day.”
The sound of something crashing in the living room interrupts our moment. We both laugh and sigh in unison. Tammy raises her eyes to mine. “Go check on our little hooligans, would you, Daddy?”
I nod and press my lips against hers. I swear to God I could stay alive from her kisses alone.
“Of course, baby.” I smile. “And remember, you and I aren’t finished. I’m going to punish you later.”
As I step away, Tammy feigns a gasp and puts a hand over her mouth. “Punishme?” She giggles. “Punish me for what?”
“For what?” I ask, raising an eyebrow. “For being so goddamn sexy of course.”
That night, when the kids are finally asleep in their room, Tammy and I curl up in bed, her head resting on my chest as her fingers trace the lines of my abs.
“You’re so good,” she whispers.
“Good?” I ask. “At what?”
She laughs softly. “Everything? Being a father. Being a husband. Who would have thought the leader of the Heartless Bastards would end up being the most passionate, tender, sensitive man–”
“Hey now,” I interrupt, pulling my wife on top of me. “Tender? Sensitive? Don’t let anybody hear you talk like that. I’ve got a reputation to protect.”
Tammy laughs, letting her hair spill down onto my face. “As long as that reputation doesn’t include being a playboy…”
“You know it doesn’t,” I say, my voice stern, my eyes fixed on hers. “Everyone knows I’m a one-woman man now, baby.”
I know she’s just playing around, but it did come as a big shock to everyone when I announced that I was settling down. I’m sure most of the guys figured I would actually eventually get back with Roxy after my “fling” with Tammy ended.
But they were wrong.
After I fully banned Roxy from the clubhouse, she went and got herself a boyfriend in the gang The Reaper’s Oath. I guess she thought she would be able to start a war between us or something, but I just told all the guys to back off and not engage. After a few weeks of her plan not working, she dumped the poor guy and left Chesterville altogether. Last I heard, she was somewhere a few hours north. I have no idea what she’s doing, nor do I want to know.
I’m still the leader of the Heartless Bastards, but things are different now. I guess having children and settling down does change the way you look at life. We’re still outlaws, but we also chip in to help the community now. The people who have barely anything. When the government stiffs them, we help prop them up. It was Tammy’s suggestion, and it was a damn good one.
