II. 10
(Analysis of Cost.)
“Holy shit, Eric,” Nirav exclaimed, blinking at the sight of him. “What happened to your face?”
Sasha didn’t look up, discreetly burying a smile as Eric sidled up to the rest of their group in the classroom. The impact was days old by now, but still—she’d hit him hard enough that it wasn’t too surprising he’d still have bruising around the eyes.
“Walked into a door,” Eric replied evenly, falling into the open seat between Sasha and John. “So, what’s left to do for Friday?”
“I can put the PowerPoint together,” Nirav offered. “Sasha was just finishing the final cost analysis—”
“I thought I was doing the cost analysis,” Eric interrupted, turning to glance at Sasha. “Isn’t that how we broke things up?”
“Seems like your eye is giving you some trouble,” Sasha replied lazily, pulling up the email and turning her computer screen towards him. “You were supposed to do exploratory research on the product.”
Eric grimaced. “Ididthat, but—”
“Look, can we just do our work, please?” John interrupted, as Sasha’s phone buzzed on the desk.
LEV:so how is eric’s face
LEV:tell me immediately I must know
LEV:I’ve been waiting all day
“Something funny, Sasha?” Eric muttered, as she quickly flipped the screen over.
