I whimpered, my nails clawed at his thighs as my back arched. A mewl burst from my throat. A barrage of words popped in and out of my head, each one dirtier than the next, but the pressure was so intense my brain and mouth refused to cooperate. More whimpers fell from my lips, a desperate plea to drive me to the edge.

“Fuck, yes. Come all over my cock, baby.”

I leaned forward, my body spent, as he thrust faster into me. His hips ground mercilessly into mine, his finger still swirled over my clit, making my orgasm continue with little aftershocks.

“James,” I moaned as my body tightened again. How the hell was he making me come three times? I cried out as I convulsed around him once more.

His body quivered and shook. When his cock swelled inside of me, my lips found his neck and I sucked hard. James came with a roar, his hips jerking with each pulse of his release.

When our breathing returned to normal, I rested my head on his shoulder, wrapping my arms around his chest. He gently pressed a kiss on top of my head, and I thought it was the best sound in the world when he exhaled a deep, happy, satisfied sigh.

I couldn’t move. I could barely breathe as Alden lifted me into his arms and carried me to bed. He laid me on top of the covers and headed back into the bathroom.

“Where are you going?” I mumbled, missing him already.

Within seconds, he returned with a towel, and rubbed me dry before tucking me in under the covers. After putting the towel away, he climbed in and pulled me against his body.

We fell asleep, our bodies intertwined, our hearts beating and our breaths as one. My last thought was this couldn’t get any better.

JAMES CHECKED HIS WATCHone more time and held up two fingers indicating the number of minutes left before we could move from our hiding spot in the stairwell on the twenty-eighth floor of my grandparents’ company. We weighed the odds of coming to the office after hours and realized that if we were caught it was far easier to explain our presence during the day. Our chosen spot was more to be discreet, instead of completely out of sight. Gage had looped the cameras throughout the stairs and the elevators for the length of time we were in the building.

I tensed as footsteps came closer to the door near where we were hiding. The group of voices stopped at the nearby door and then moved on. It was laughable that I was afraid of being seen at my grandparents’ company, but since I wasn’t exactly there for tea, we were aiming for stealth.

“Forget it, we’re not doing this,” James grumbled.

“What did you say?” I looked up at him, knowing I had to have heard him wrong. We hashed this out at our meeting with Jareth earlier this morning. Everything was set.

I shook my head. I knew that closed off look. He thought he could protect me, but I’d come too far, and I was done dealing with my parent’s bullshit.

“Jess, if they were desperate enough to kidnap you. What do you think will happen if they find out you snuck into their office?”

“They won’t. Right now they’re away until the board meeting in two days. If anyone sees me, I’ll tell them Jareth needed something and asked me to get it.” My asshole parents were on a vacation, undoubtedly celebrating their soon-to-be acquired shares.

He reached out and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. “Jess, I want you to be safe. I can’t lose you.”

I leaned into his touch, so grateful to have this man back in my life. “I will be. You’ll be right outside their office if I need you.”

“Do you really think they’re dumb enough to leave evidence in such an obvious place?”

I shake my head. “I don’t know, but Gage hasn’t found anything yet and we’re running out of time. It’s like searching for a needle in a haystack. If we don’t find anything there, then we have to try their house.”

He pressed his lips together. I could tell he was even less enthusiastic about that idea. I patted his chest and stood on tiptoe to kiss him. “I’ll be in and out.”

My parent’s secretary was a creature of habit. She took lunch from 12:00-12:30 p.m. so that gave us thirty minutes to search. We slipped out of the stairwell the moment she got in the elevator and the doors closed. With my shoulders thrown back, and my head high, we strode out and past her desk.

It wasn’t completely uncommon to see me at the office, but I wanted to make it quick since I didn’t make a habit of being here and someone might take notice. We swiftly moved down the hall, James at my back, making sure I was covered.

When we got to my parent’s office, I took out the key Jareth had given us this morning. I nodded at James as it turned, and I slipped inside.

“Everything okay?” James asked, through the earpiece he’d given me on the ride over.

He’d planned to watch from a nearby office so that he was out of sight.

“I’m good.”

“Okay. You have twenty minutes and then you get out.”
