The guys are curled around me on the bed, each of them touching me in some way, as if worried I might disappear. The sentiment is mutual, and it’s all I can do not to hug them close and never let them go.

Then I remember the serum and my desperate attempt to save them.

“You’re alive,” I whisper tentatively, unsure I quite believe it yet. I sit up slowly, so as not to disturb them, brushing my fingers against each of them just to double-check. Jameson is resting against my legs, his head on my thigh. He shifts under my touch, and his arms tighten around me.

Ellis is asleep at the edge of the mattress, a gentle snore escaping with each breath. Without his glasses, he looks younger, a vulnerability to him that is missing when he’s awake. I gently pull the blankets over him, my heart melting when he sighs in contentment and curls toward me.

Gunner grumbles in his sleep when my movements disturb him, and he leans forward to—Did he just sniff me? It seems to relax him, and he snuggles against my side, his head coming to rest on my stomach. Jaceson’s eyes flick open when I shift, my feet leaving the comforting warmth of his chest from where he rests at the foot of the bed.

“Are you okay?” Hicks asks, a gentleness to his voice that has my throat tightening.

I ignore his question to ask one of my own. “Is everyone okay?”

His eyes narrow in annoyance, but he answers my question readily enough. “Gunner spiked a high fever in the middle of thenight. It only lasted an hour, seeming to abate when he touched you.”

I’m not aware of my hand landing on Gunner’s forehead until he grumbles and snuggles closer. The fever is gone. I brush the hair away from Jameson’s forehead, running my hands along his face, only slightly reassured when I can’t detect a fever from him either.

Before I can pull away, his hand lashes out, and he captures my wrist. When I glance down, I find him watching me with an unwavering stare, his pale blue eyes so tranquil that I could drown in their depths. It’s so at odds with his normal manic self that I can’t turn away, even if I wanted. Maybe I should be slightly unnerved by his intensity, but Jameson never does anything by half measures.

It’s one of the things that I adore most about him.

“You’re awake,” he murmurs, his thumb brushing against the pulse in my wrist. He lifts my hand and kisses the tips of my fingers reverently, the man instinctively knowing how to charm a woman without even trying.

Maybe I should be jealous, but he has never turned his abilities on anyone else since we met. He looks at me like I am his world, and it’s fucking addicting for a woman who has never been shown even the smallest kindness.

“What happened after I passed out?” I swallow hard, hating the tremble in my voice.

“We put everyone to bed,” Hicks answers, throwing back the covers before swinging his legs over the side of the mattress. “It’s morning. They’re going to be coming for us soon. I’m going to guess that not all of us were supposed to survive the night. We need to be prepared for when they come.”

Jaceson reaches out and squeezes my ankle comfortingly before he rolls from the bed and lands on his feet. Ellis inhalesdeeply, then stumbles from bed and stretches, the muscles of his back flexing in a way that has my mouth watering.

Gunner grumbles once again before reluctantly opening his eyes. He scans my face, his hold tightening even as his expression softens, and I swear I almost see his dimples before he reluctantly slips from the bed.

Jameson doesn’t even bother to leave the bed. He grabs my legs and yanks hard until I’m flat on my back. I land with anoomphbut don’t have time to do anything else before he army crawls up my body, not stopping until his face hovers over mine. “Good morning, my pookie.”

His husky tone has me melting against the mattress, and I can’t help the smile that curls my lips. “Good morning, Jameson.”

His lips barely brush mine before he’s yanked from me, dragged the length of the bed, and dropped on the floor with a solid thud and a grunt. I hardly had a chance to taste him before he disappeared, and I lean up with a scowl, meeting Hicks’ glare with one of my own.

I want to say he’s annoyed, but I don’t miss the hungry gleam in his eyes when his gaze lands on my lips. My annoyance evaporates, and I can’t help but imagine what his lips would feel like against mine once again.

Before any of us can react, a thud sounds in the room like a gunshot, and the locks on the door disengage. The guys all tense, each of them standing in front of me like a wall, and I hastily jump to my feet as I prepare for the room to be invaded.

Except, nothing happens.

It’s only then that I notice that the guys have removed my shoes, my socks are gone, and my pants have been stripped. I’m standing before them in only a shirt that barely covers the bottom of my ass.

I should feel naked and vulnerable, but when the guys turn to look at me, my body practically glows under their perusal. When they take a step toward me, I bolt for the bathroom. “We should get ready. I want to be prepared for when they come for us.”

I’m shaking when I shut the door behind me, and I’m startled when I see my reflection in the mirror. My face is flushed, my teal eyes sparkling. I’m fucking glowing. Every inch of my body tingles, aching for their touch…and I ran away from them like an idiot.

I want to smack myself in the face.

I turn away from the mirror with a sigh and methodically strip. When I step into the shower and turn on the knobs, icy water crashes over me, and I shudder under the assault. I wait until my libido is back under my control before I twist the knob to hot. Steam instantly fills the shower. I’m so distracted by the heated water pounding on my aching muscles that I don’t hear the door open until Jameson and Jaceson emerge through the steam like I conjured them from my imagination.

Completely naked.

My mouth drops open at the sight of them striding toward me. The thought of protesting never crosses my mind as I watch the steam caressing their bodies, both revealing and hiding enough that I can’t look away. My mouth waters, and my hands twitch with the need to touch the delicious muscles on display.
