As I sat in my room, I tried to think of what to wear. Then I remembered my options were limited to loungewear. I settled on a powder blue lounge set. My hair had been in a ponytail since I arrived, so I decided to change that. After I showered and got dressed, I sat at the vanity inside of the large walk-in closet. Tonight, I would give myself some loose curls and even apply some light makeup that I kept in my purse. Twenty minutes later, I double checked my appearance and headed downstairs to meet Wolf.
I opened my bedroom door at the same time Wolf opened his. A giddy laugh escaped me since I was surprised to see him. I assumed he would be downstairs waiting on me.
“Alexis, you look beautiful. I love your hair,” he complimented.
“I wasn’t expecting you to be up here.”
“I was a little behind schedule but it’s all good. Now that I’m here, I get to escort you to our official first date,” he said as he reached for my hand. Together we walked down the stairs. Once we were downstairs, he made a stop in the kitchen. I was surprised that he even thought to plan a date for us. Wolf had been full of surprises since we got here. I never thought things between us would escalate so quickly.
“Normally I would bring this all out by myself. Since I’m working with one arm would you mind helping me out?” he asked.
“Not at all,” I said while I grabbed two bowls. One held the oxtails and the other held the rice and peas. Wolf grabbed the bowl with the cabbage. One of us would need to come back for the wine.
Wolf walked out to the backyard, and I was right behind him. After he set down his bowl, he went back in for the wine.
As I placed the bowls down, I gasped at the table setting. The tea tree lights that were spread throughout the table were the only light illuminating the area of the backyard where we were sitting. I admired the gardenia plant that was placed at the center of the table. Everything was put together so nicely. I couldn’t believe Wolf had called his mother over to do all of this for me.
Wolf placed the wine on the table along with some glasses.
“Why do you look like you’re about to cry? Is everything okay? Do you want to eat inside or something?” he asked nervously. The spewing of questions was a cute display of his concern for my feelings.
“No, it’s nothing like that. It’s just no one has ever done anything so thoughtful for me. You have an arm in a sling, and you still made all of this happen. I’m just taking it all in.”
“This will be the first of many things we get to experience together. I wanted our first date to be special because you deserve it.”
Wolf being vulnerable in this moment made my body tremble with desire for him. I kissed him, and I hoped he felt every bit of passion he made me feel. Dinner was the last thing on my mind, but since he went through so much trouble I would gladly eat. He broke our kiss first.
“See this is how you got fucked before our first date. Don’t start nothing you can’t finish, Lexxy. Come on let’s eat,” he instructed.
I did as I was told and plated our food. We sat across from each other, so Wolf watched every move I made intently. The wetness in my pants was present as my pearl continued to throb. Once I finished plating our meals, I poured myself a glass of wine and took a sip. I hoped the alcohol would help calm my desire for Wolf. We would have plenty of time for sex tonight. I needed to focus on strengthening our bond. I took my first bite of food and forgot all about my desire for sex. The oxtail melted in my mouth. Momma Gale definitely put some love in this food tonight.
“When this is all over, I’m going to live with your mother. I need her to cook like this for me every night,” I joked.
“And she would love having you there. Speaking of my mother, she said something earlier that kind of stuck with me,” he confessed.
“Oh yeah, what was that?”
“She said that you and I never got to see positive examples of a healthy relationship. I hope that tonight we can start to build our love story as an example for the people around us and our future children,” he explained.
My eyes became watery as the gravity of what he said sank in. Wolf and I shared a common pain of watching our mothers experience physical abuse at the hands of our fathers. It was something about that pain that kept me fearful of getting too close to any man. I guess it was that same fear that allowed Wolf to be a safe haven for me.
“I would love that. You know I became a doctor because of my mother’s experience. I think I could honor her if I allowed you to love me the way I deserve to be loved. To answer your previous question… Yes, Wolf. I’m down to ride with you,” I expressed fondly. I watched as a smile crept over his face.
“Baby, those are the words I have been waiting to hear,” he said as he looked at me and smiled. Wolf leaned across the table to kiss me. “I’m too excited to eat now. Do you want to see what else I have planned for you?” he asked.
Part of me wanted to keep eating. However, this had been such an exciting day. The anticipation of seeing what else he had planned made my hunger subside. “Yeah, we can always heat the food up.”
He got up and walked to the left side of the table. It was the first time I noticed the garden tools. I didn’t recall them being there when we came out here the other day. He picked up a couple of packets. “I’ve had these flower seeds in my shed since I moved in. I had every intention of planting them, but the timing never seemed right—until today that is. I want us to plant these together so we can watch them grow together,” he explained.
This man was full of surprises today. It was all too much in a good way.
“Baby, this is such a thoughtful gesture. Where do you think we should plant them?”
“I was thinking over by the guest house,” he said as he pointed toward the fence.
I picked up the two garden shovels and we made our way toward the guest house. The gate along the guest house was perfect. We both got down and dug spaces to plant the seeds. My lounge set would be ruined after this, but this was worth it. Experiences like this were once in a lifetime. I didn’t think there could be a more perfect first date. Wolf’s thoughtfulness was all I needed to assure me I made the right decision in agreeing to be with him.
