“Sure. I’ll mention it to the girls.”
I pinch my brows together when he lifts his otherhand that’s holding a paper bag.
“What’s that? Something salted caramel?”
“No.” He snorts. “But it is for you.”
Eager to see what it is, I collect the bag andopen it, lips curling at the orange cranberry muffin inside. “Oh, I love these.I get one every time I go to the café.” I squint at him. “How did you know?”
A sneaky expression masks his handsome face. “Ithought you already knew I was your stalker. I like them too. This was the lastone. Enjoy.”
“Aw.” I smile at him. “Here.” I break it and offerhim the other half.
Caleb beams at me. He drapes his arm around myback, and we eat the muffin as we stroll.
“Your boyfriend’s rich,” Scarlett gushes whilelooking around the Rosmond house.
“I thought you already knew,” Nichole says with ashrug. “Every female soccer fan at school does. It’s another level of hotnessto him.”
I snort and shake my head at them.
We veer into the living area. Only Dante and theirother teammate Bobby are here.
After the introductions, Logan and the guys banterover beer. Caleb isn’t drinking, as expected.
Alcoholism is a demon in both our pasts. Eventhough I can’t remember my experience, an innate feeling makes me avoid it.
“Where’s Noah?” I ask before biting into a sliceof pizza.
“He went to a party at his friend’s house. Shouldbe back by midnight.”
“I’ll set up the movies,” Dante offers, moseyingoff.
“Ishesingle?” Nichole whispers to Caleb, brushing aside loose curls from her forehead.
He snorts. “Yeah. Careful, though. Dante’s mybuddy, but he’s never serious with anyone.”
Her brown eyes sparkle some more, and a sly smiletilts her plump red-stained lips. “Me neither.” She squares her shoulders andstruts after Dante.
Logan and Scarlett grab the pizza boxes, and Bobbycarries the drinks.
Caleb collects the tray of popcorn and othersnacks before I reach for it. He presses a quick kiss on my lips, pulling asweet smile out of me.
We walk into the media room, and he setseverything on the large coffee table.
“Don’t,” he warns Bobby as his friend reaches forsalted caramel popcorn. “Those are for Jordyn.Only.”
I click my tongue. “Geez. There’s plenty. We canshare.”
“No, I’m good,” Bobby jokes. “I love my life.” Hepours a bit of the regular popcorn into an individual container and relaxesback in the chair.
Dante chuckles at the whole thing, grabs a sliceof pizza, and eats while staring at Nichole beside him on the sofa.
Scarlett and Logan cozy up at the other end.
“I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch the entiremovie,” Scarlett says. “Horror creeps me out.” There’s already fear plasteredover her face.
“I hear this one isn’t too scary,” Dante tellsher.
