“So fucking sweet,” he growls. “And it’s mine.”

Pressure pools at my core, zipping throughout mybody like a bolt of blue.

My eyes roll back in my head as I start to shake.Caleb’s name falls from my lips repeatedly while I climax all over his face, still buried between my thighs.

As I descend from the high, he fixes my underwearback into place and puts my leg down. Straightening, he wipes his mouth withthe palm of his hand.

I tug my skirt down, and we stare at each other insilence for a few seconds before he drives in for another feral kiss, lettingme taste myself.

Easing back, Caleb rests his forehead against minewhile clutching my neck with both hands. “There’s so much I want to share withyou. So much I want to do with you. We have eight years of distance to make upfor, and I’m excited to start.”

Hearing the mention of the time passed afterlosing Dove places a sad feeling in my stomach.

I shift from him and look at the city lights inthe distance. We’re on a small hill that grants a nice view.

Caleb touches my shoulder, asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Uh, I have a headache all of a sudden. I need tolie down.”

“I’ll drive you back.”

We walk out of the shadows and head to his car. Itext Scarlett that I’m leaving with Caleb as he peels off from the place, arriving on campus minutes later.

I linger in the car even after he kills theengine.

Caleb reaches for my hand in my lap. “Whathappened between last night and today, Jordyn? You seem off.”

I look at him, discerning his features in the dimcar. “I visited my therapist.”

He tightens his grip. “Jordyn…”

“I unlocked a memory from the foster home. Youwere sitting in a room upstairs, playing some card game with either Dove orme.”

“You. Same person.” He sniffs. “We always playedcards. I taught you all the games I learned from my mom. On her good days, andwhen her boyfriend wasn’t around, she’d teach me cards.”

I brush my thumb across his jaw affectionately.“Will you tell me about—”

“Not yet,” he says seriously. “Some parts are toodark. We’re still getting close.”

“Okay,” I say in a whisper.

Caleb rubs his thumb over the pulse at my neck.“Don’t go looking for the memories.” That surprises me.

“Don’t you want me to remember?”

He shakes his head. “I’ll remember for the both ofus. I told you, Jordyn. If messing with the past hurts you, I don’t want youto. I can tell you’re overwhelmed. I don’t want you in pain because you’retrying to remember me. Let’s focus on the present. We’ll make new memories.Deal?”

I can’t help but smile and give in. “Deal.”

Caleb leans over for a hot kiss, leaving mebreathless when it’s over.

“Are you finally going to admit that you want me?”he rasps at my lips.

I smirk. “Where’s the fun in that?”

His chest rumbles at a sexy growl. “So it seemsI’m still chasing you then. That’s all right, baby. I’ll chase you forever.”

Adrenaline has my heart pounding rapidly.
