He smirks, reaches inside the car, and takes out abox of pink eternity roses.

“I’m sorry for tossing your grandmother’s gift,”he says sincerely.

His apology gives me a sweet rush, but I play itoff and accept the roses with a dry, “Fine.”

“Oh.” He takes two salted caramel peanut bars fromhis pocket. “I saw this kind in your bag on Wednesday.”

Fuck. I’m an addict when it comes to anythingsalted caramel.

Caleb’s becoming aware of my weaknesses.

I almost moan in my frustration as I pluck thesnack from his hand. “Thanks.”

He nods to the car. “Let’s go for a ride.”

“No. I’m going back to—ugh!” Caleb grasps my arm, opens the passenger door, and ushers me inside.

This guy…

Conceding, I place everything on my lap and leanback against the seat.

He slides in behind the wheel and leaves campus.

My phone vibrates soon after. Just as I take itout, Caleb snatches it from my hand and powers it off, putting it in his pocketafterward. “No distractions. I want you to myself.”

“So possessive.” Any attempt to take my phonecould cause an accident, so I suck my teeth and look out the window.

“What time does your shift start today?” he asks.

“I don’t work on Saturdays.” I bite my lip andinternally scold myself.

Caleb chuckles. “Let’s watch a movie in my roomlater.”

“Yeah, right,” I clip. “You’re just trying to get meinto your bed. You already revealed you want to spray cum all over me.”

He scoffs. “Don’t worry, Jordyn. That’ll happenwhen you decide. But just know I’d rather spray it inside you.”

Spittle slides down my throat, and it takes me asecond to counter. “It’ll never happen. There’s no way I’ll willingly let youstick that thing in me.”

“Ah,” he drones. “You’re still a virgin.”

“Look at you getting excited,” I mock. “Happy toburst your fantasy bubble. I’ve already fucked someone. I’m still not lettingyou touch me.”

He glances at me briefly and snorts. “You’re a badliar.”

I sniff. “What makes you so certain I’m lying?”

“You’re playing with your hair and blinking a lot.You do that when you lie, Jordyn.”

His accurate discernment makes me gasp. It’s onlybeen a few days, and he’s already noticing details about me. And I can’t helpthe delight that he didn’t refer to Dove doing the same things.

“Favorite place in Hartford?” Caleb cuts throughmy thoughts.

I squint at him. “Why?”

“I want to go there with you. Try your favoritefood. Listen to music you like. I want to know you. Understand what goes on inyour mind.”

“So you can play more games with me?” I grumble.
