Geez.

I blink away the impact and fight to remaincomposed. “Don’t text me, and stop following me around. I told you. I won’t digup the past just to prove your mistake.”

“I had no idea you were at the library. I wasborrowing a book. And it’s not a mistake, Jordyn.” He sighs. “But you’re right.I don’t want to cause you any harm. So let’s not dwell on back then. Let’s moveforward.”

“Move forward with who?” I scoff, acting unfazed.“No thanks.”

“Go out with me.” He lowers his gaze to my lips, and I’m unable to stop myself from moistening them.

“No,” comes out in a close whisper. “I’m alreadyconsidering someone.”

He twists his features in apparent anger. “Is itthat guy who texted you? Aaron?”

“It’s none of your business.” I try again toleave.

Caleb clutches both my arms and traps me in thecorner. Though he leaves a few inches between us, the heat of his bodystimulates me.

“I’ll pick you up after work,” he declares. “Theonly one you should be considering is me. I don’t care if you don’t rememberme, Jordyn. I refuse to lose you.”

“You’re out of your damn mind.” I manage to liftmy hands and push him at his chest, only to tingle at the hardness beneath myfingers.

“I am,” he agrees with a chilling smirk. “I lostmy mind with my obsession over you. I was the only one who made you smile—theonly one who got you to let your guard down. I’m going to do more now. Youwillbe mine.” I tremble when he moves his head closer. So close that it only takesme leaning forward a little to reach his lips. He inhales profoundly andgroans. “You smell so damn good.”

You do too, a dirty voice screams.

“Get away from me.” I shove at his chest again.Fuck, he’s strong. Or maybe deep inside, I don’t want him to back up. “I’mgoing to scream.”

Caleb pulls his mouth into a devilish half-smile.“I’d love to hear you scream while I—”

“Jordyn?” We both look in the direction.

Aaron’s standing nearby with concern on his face.“Everything okay?”

“Who the fuck are you?” Caleb snarls. “You’reinterrupting.”Well, that doesn’t help.

“Jerk.” I push him back at last. “He’s myclassmate. We’re working on an assignment.”Why am I explaining like anidiot?

Aaron glares at Caleb. “Who are you?”

“I’m her boyfriend,” Caleb asserts, as confidentas fuck.

“No, you’re delusional.” I start to walk away fromhim.

He grabs my hand, holding me in the spot. “Are youthe one who texted my girl last night?”

“I’m not your girl,” I argue amid battling thesensations brought on by his touch.

“Youare,” he claims in a firm tone, thenshoots Aaron a frightening look. “Assignments only. You got that? If you tryanything with Jordyn, I’ll rip you apart piece by piece.” He snaps to me. “I’llbe at the bistro later.” He walks off, heading for the side exit.

“Fuck. He’s so intense.” But why is my heartracing?

“So you do have a boyfriend,” Aaron remarks, breaking my thoughts.

“I don’t,” I dispel with the shake of my hand.

He scowls as if confused. “That guy acted as ifyou belong to him.”

“He has issues. I’m really not seeing anyone.”
