Chilling on the deck, thoughts ofScotland run through my mind again. Toya and I had a breakthrough there, sayingthe three words for the first time, and deciding we wanted to be together nomatter what anyone said.

Man, we’ve come far in almost twoyears. The trip was to celebrate our anniversary and start our engagement.Damn.

“I haven’t seen you in forever,Varen.”

A sour taste buds in my mouth at thefamiliar voice. I turn from the railing, confirming that it is indeed Kelly.

“What are you doing here?” Ideadpan.

“Geez.” She steps out on the deck, stopping next to me. “Some of these guys are my friends, too. Or did youforget?”

I move away from her and set theempty bottle on a table.

“So how are things with little missinnocent? Latoya, is it? I heard she went to California for college. Must behard.”

“We’re fine.” I make to go inside, but she grabs my arm and stops me.

“I miss hanging out with you. We hadsomething special.”

“Bullshit.” I yank my arm from hergrip. “We were just hooking up. A distraction from all the shit I was goingthrough. Nothing else.”

“Maybe I could still be thatdistraction,” she offers in a flirty tone.

“No thanks. I’m committed to mygirlfriend.”

An uncaring giggle follows. “Latoyadoesn’t have to know. Why don’t you come back to my place? My mom’s in rehabagain, so I’m all alone.”

“Sorry to hear that. Good luck toyou both.”

She grabs my shirt and pulls me intoher.

“Knock it off, Kelly.” I staggerback. “I’m not interested.”

“Come on, Varen. I bet Latoyadoesn’t like it rough the way we do.”

I stiffen when she kisses me andtouches my cock.

“What the fuck!” I shove her back. “Don’tfucking do shit like that!”

I roughly wipe my mouth and marchinside, leaving Kelly and her mocking laugh behind.

I’m still rattled when I turn intothe game room.

Finn pauses with the pool stick, pinching his brows as he regards me. “You all right, man? We’re almost donewith this round. Want to go next?”

“No, I’m out.” I nod to Colt and theother guys.

“What’s going on?” Finn checks.

“Nothing. I’ll see you.”

I hasten from the house, feelinglike I betrayed Toya when I’ve done nothing wrong.

Should I tell her about Kelly andthat kiss? Will she believe I stopped it?

“V!” Finn calls out.

Pausing at my car, I shift in placewhile waiting for him to jog over to me.
