She parts her lips, just enough for me to slide the food in. She closes her mouth as I place the fork down and chews while glaring at me.

I lean forward, swiping a bit of the sauce from her bottom lip before placing it in my mouth. “Hmm,” I moan. “Delicious.” I state, just to tease her a little more. She releases a little growl in warning, but I don’t miss the hint of lust in her eyes. I am going to have so much fun with her.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

ALINA

I feel exhausted, and it’s like every part of me wants to crawl into bed and sleep for an eternity. Hap sits there force-feeding me, and while I was hungry, I could happily leave eating and sleep instead. I catch the shift next to me, and I turn and see Star sitting with Enzo in her arms. She hands him a sliced piece of cucumber to munch on, and I give her a small smile.

“So, I’m not the emotional type; ask anyone, except when it comes to the men in my life, and I suppose that goes for the club, too.” She shrugs, a small smile on her lips.

I shrug. “Okay?” I say, not sure what I am supposed to say to that.

“I don’t function without him. I had nothing until him. My world begins and ends with him,” she states, opening her heart. “And this one, too.” She smiles, kissing the top of Enzo’s head. “There is nothing I wouldn’t do for them.” She swallows. “Thank you,” she says, blinking back the tears.

I swallow back my emotions and place my hand on hers. “I just did my job. They had nothing on him. It wouldn’t have stood up in court,” I explain.

She shakes her head. “No, you did more than you know. The court date would have been weeks, and I know they would haveplanted more. They would have him painted him out to be the man many know and are afraid of. Not the man that I see, that this club sees.”

I nod, knowing what she is saying. He carries an aura about him, a presence that evokes fear down into your very soul.

She sniffs and takes a deep breath. “Now I’ve bared my soul, I want you to know there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you. Want someone to suffer? Then look no further. Need a future babysitter so you and Hap can have a fuck fest? Then please abuse my offer any time,” she offers with a glint in her eyes.

“Fff-uck!” Enzo yells excitedly.

Star doesn’t say anything or even look at him. “I’ve given up. He’s a biker brat now. All I can do is make sure he is respectful, apparently while swearing like a sailor.” She smirks, rolling her eyes.

My grin deepens while I look down at Enzo. He is a beautiful boy, with his father’s eyes and his mother’s black hair. I’m sure he will break some hearts when he gets older.

“You should let Star play with your ex,” Hap suggests as he leans his arm across the back of my chair, his fingers brushing my shoulder.

Star looks at me. “What happened? He didn’t hit you, did he? Because if he did, then just say the word, and we will assemble.”

I glare back at Hap, but he just gives me a wink. I sigh. “No, he didn’t hit me. Nothing as bad as that. I’m divorced now, and he’s out of my life, so it’s nothing to worry about,” I say, hoping that will be the end of it.

“She walked in on him fucking her sister in the hot tub,” Hap adds, giving my neck a squeeze. His eyes are playful and full of mischief.

“Holy fucking shit!” Star blurts out.

“Fff-uck! Thhhit!” Enzo screeches excitedly.

I shove my elbow back into Hap’s gut, making him grunt. “Yes, that happened, and I got the house and he got nothing, so I got my revenge,” I state.

Star shakes her head back and forth. “Absolutely not. That is not revenge. That is just the final line under your relationship. The man needs to suffer, and your slut sister needs to suffer,” she affirms.

“I really don’t want to make things messy,” I say, trying to reason, but I can see her mind is already working, and something tells me I’m not going to be able to get her to back down on this one.

“Leave it with me,” she assures. “I will come up with something.” She pats my hand and stands before I can utter another word.

I spin around to face Hap. “Why did you do that?” I hiss.

His eyes roam over my face. “Because she is right. The divorce is a finality. It wasn’t revenge. The fucker should pay for what he’s done. I know you earned the money, and he earned fuck all. All he’s done is exchange who he gets his money from,” Hap points out. I open my mouth to argue, but he cuts me off. “Come on, I’m taking you to bed. You’re tired.” He stands, and I look at him, wanting to tell him to do one, to argue that I’m not a child and for him to stop treating me like one, but my body is screaming at me for my bed. Fuck him and his bossy ways. I can argue with him later.

Right now, I want to lie down in a nice, soft bed and sleep like the dead. I huff and stand. I may be doing what he wants, but like hell am I going to let him know I’m agreeing with him and going willingly.

He takes my hand in his, a knowing smirk on his lips. We move but as we come to the head of the table, we stop as he speaks to Ghost. “We will stay here for another day or two, but then I want to take her home,” he says.

Ghost nods. “I get it, but we need church, and once we know it’s safe, then we can decide as a club together. Trust me, I want nothing more than to be in my own bed,” he states, his eyes drifting to Star.
