Page 119 of Her Rabid Beasts

I sigh, skimming my knuckles across her olive skin, flushed with her exertion. She wants to please me, I realise. She got off on obeying me, just as much as I got off on commanding her and seeing her obey.

Heat fills my chest and I’m compelled to say it. “I want to see you happy,” I murmur, tucking a strand of her long midnight hair behind her ear. The need to groom her is overpowering.

Surprise flashes across her face before she smiles shyly.

That smile makes me go still. It makes me stare at her, this creature granted to me by fate.

Her aunt set me off and made me unreasonable. With her words, with her obvious flirtation. Every second conversing with her was a poisoned fang tearing at my calm exterior. That woman caused harm to Aurelia. My mate had lost her mother, just as I had. And when she could have looked to her aunt as a mother, Charlotte Naga had rejected her completely. Such a wound only came from a truly malevolent person.

But it brings me back to why we are here in the first place. I glance at Savage, lying flat on his back, half under my desk, our regina’s cum shining all over his face.

I ask, “Why were you two in here?”

The swiftness with which Aurelia’s face goes from smiling to nervous makes my lion growl behind his door. But the man in me raises a brow. She glances behind her and tries to get off me, but I capture her neck in one gentle hand. She goes limp, succumbing completely.

Nothing makes me happier than to see that. It makes me go hard again.

“What were you doing here, Aurelia?” I repeat quietly.

Savage snorts when I glance at him, and he mimes zipping his mouth shut and throwing away the key. I wonder if Scythe knows where his brother’s loyalties now lie.

Blue eyes fix on my own. “I, um… Does it matter?” She licks her lips and I know I have to let her go before I bend her over my desk.

I release her neck and gesture for her to stand. She quickly obliges.

It’s then that I see the student file under the desk with them.

“You two make for poor criminals,” I mutter, using my telekinesis to shoot it towards me. When I read whose file it is, I frown at Aurelia.

“I was just interested in the other rabids,” she says quickly.

I lean back in my chair and study her. The way the lie shot out of her lips.

“Your nose is growing,” I remark.

She blushes prettily under my gaze and it pleases me to know I have that effect on her, but… does she not know her power rivals mine? Or does she know, but our physical size difference makes for a successful illusion? Her father might not be in physical possession of her, but he’s still there, in her mind. Still there in the way she fears.

“I’ll just be going now,” she says. Henry zips for her out of nowhere. The nimpins are trained to make themselves discreet during sexual activity. Rick and I didn’t want to risk them getting hurt.

Savage rolls gracefully to his feet. “I’ll walk you back to your dorm, regina.”

Every instinct I have tells me to bundle Aurelia in my arms and take her up to my bed where we should spank her for her audacity and then dress her in warmer clothes.

I give a resigned sigh. Any relationship with Aurelia can’t work. Not with me here as one of her teachers. There wereprocedures made for cases of packs being found with the members being in a teacher-student dynamic or healthcare worker-patient. But those procedures meant removing one or both parties from their position before their union. Our kind are particularly forgiving when it comes to mating groups as we hold them sacred—a priority above all things.

Since Aurelia is adamant she doesn’t want to reveal her secret, we can’t reveal me as one of her mates. People would start to wonder how she, an eagle, had a wolf and a lion in her pack. Without the sanctity of matehood, any other public relationship with her is rightfully illegal.

My hands are, therefore, tied.

But my animus is already sending me after her.

“I’ll walk you back as well,” I growl. “And you’re going to tell me why you’re interested in Titus. He is not one of yours.”

Celeste told me who he belonged to. As a phoenix, she’s aware of all the bonds in the academy.

“He’s not,” Aurelia agrees hastily. I stalk after her as she hurries out of my office with Savage. I have to suppress my hunting instinct to take her to the ground. “I just thought I could find out more information about my condition.”

Another lie.
