“Oh, really?” I laugh. “Fine, it's a deal. But you better not distract me.”
“I won't. I won't.” His soft chuckle sends shivers down my spine. I close my eyes and sigh softly.
“I wish I had brothers and sisters,” I say quietly. “Your family is so nice.”
“They're okay. They can be a pain in the ass,” he says gruffly.
“It's boring being an only child,” I admit.
“You're not an only child anymore. My family is your family. Now you have a huge family to play with.” He kisses my head again. “Growing up, I always wondered what it would be like if my brothers and sister weren't around, but every time Ithought about it, I felt sad. They have their moments when they drive me crazy, and they get into a lot of trouble, but I wouldn't trade them for the world.”
“I wouldn't either,” I say quietly. I give a small yawn and he continues to stroke my back.
“Go to sleep. You have class in the morning.”
I drift off slowly.
When I wake up, I feel more refreshed than I have in a long time. No nightmares. I feel so safe. I turn over and see Viktor isn't in bed. I hear noises coming from his closet and I slip out of bed, wrapping the sheet around me. “Viktor?”
He pops his head out. He's in a suit, doing his tie. “Morning.”
“Morning,” I say sleepily.
“Martin is already putting a desk in the office for you, so go shower and get dressed and you can set up.” He finishes his tie and comes over, kissing me deeply. “I'll have Rachel bring breakfast to the office.”
“Hmmm, okay.” I shuffle off and go to my room. I look around it and it seems so empty. I go to the shower and run the hot water. I'm still tender and the hot water loosens up my muscles. I wash myself gently and once I'm done, I rinse myself off and wash my hair and rinse that off.
I get out and towel-dry myself, leaving my hair to dry on its own. I go to my closet and put on comfy clothes before I put on my sneakers. I grab my laptop, my books, and my stationery and head down the hall to Viktor's home office.
There's a desk in the corner with a plate of food and a cup of coffee sitting on it. I smile and set my things down. I eat while I arrange everything and glance around for Viktor, wonderingwhere he is. I don't have to wonder for long because he walks in with Martin on his heels. He's on the phone and scowling.
“What do you mean, you can't do the job?” he says.
He stops and listens to the person on the other side, then glares at Martin. “Do I have to do everything myself?”
He hangs up and sits at his desk. “Martin, we have a mole. I want you to find out who it is and take them to the warehouse and call me as soon as they're there.”
“Yes, Sir,” Martin says. “Good morning, Mrs. Milov.”
“Good morning, Martin,” I say with a soft smile. “You better get going.”
I'm surprised I'm not worried about what Viktor is talking about, but I guess it's not my business, so I best just finish my breakfast and get studying.
Viktor logs onto his computer, still frowning, and I can't help but study his face. He's so handsome, and his light blue eyes are focused on the screen. After I finish breakfast, Rachel comes to take my dishes and bring me a fresh cup of coffee.
I set up my laptop and open my textbook. It takes me a while to adjust to online classes, and I need to email two of my professors to explain that, unfortunately, I'm sick and have to work from home. While waiting for their responses, I log into my other classes and check where I should be. I open my textbook and run my hand down the index, searching for the right section. I find it and flip to that page. I glance at Viktor; he's typing away at his computer with a small smirk on his face.
God, how can he be so good-looking? The suit fits him tightly, and it strains against his muscles. I want him to pick me up so I can wrap my legs around him and we can have sex against the wall. Maybe we can have sex on his desk.
I try not to laugh. I went from being terrified and a virgin to plotting when we will be together next. I turn back to my studies and tap my leg as I read through the section, but I keep stealing glances at Viktor. I want to sear the image of him in my brain so I never forget how handsome my husband is. It's driving me crazy that I can't just strip and lay down across the table for him because someone might walk in. Plus, I really need to focus on my studies. I can't be distracted by him all day.
I turn back and read the same page again, trying my best to concentrate.
Chapter 17 - Viktor
I can see she's glancing at me. It happens less as the morning goes on and she begins to focus on her work. I can't help it. I want her so badly, but I want to play with her first.
I shrug off my suit jacket and drape it over the back of the chair. As she glances at me, I stretch my arms above my head. I notice her lick her lips, and I smirk softly. I attempt to focus on work, but I stand and lean over my desk to grab a pen, even though one is right in front of me. My hair falls into my eyes.
