Ellery had no idea. He’d pawed through everything briefly but couldn’t remember all the different designs or styles of anything in there.
“Thank you, Daddy. You pick.”
Calvin planted a kiss on his head. “I’ll be right back.”
Ellery smiled up at his Daddy then watched as Calvin left the room, the pair of tan chinos he wore hugging his firm ass, his body moving with the grace that Ellery found so captivating.
What the hell is wrong with me?
He needed to shut up and eat so they could get to the grown-up stuff.
Calvin returned a few minutes later with a baby blue bib in his hand, and Ellery wondered if it was the same one from the previous week. But when he drew closer and held it open with the design facing him, Ellery broke into a big smile.
“I love that one!” Tiny, dancing whales made up a jolly pattern that covered the entire front.
Calvin smiled back. “Good. I’m so glad you like it.”
Calvin moved behind him then leaned over to tie the soft bib around Ellery’s neck. A small shiver ran through him from the sensation of Calvin tending to him this way, his warm breath blowing over the shell of Ellery’s ear as he secured the bib. The act gave Ellery a feeling of security, as if it were Calvin’s arms around him rather than a piece of cloth. If one small act by Calvin made his heart pound this much, what would it be like when he put on the diaper?
As Calvin took his seat again, Ellery ran his palm down the front of the bib. The fabric of this one was shinier, similar to that of a stuffed animal. He’d never seen one like it before. The next time he was in the nursery, he planned on going through the shelves and closets, paying close attention to all the different selections Calvin had made. Ellery suspected it might give him more insight into what Calvin would be like as a Daddy.
“Come on, baby boy. Eat your dinner.”
“Oh. Sorry.”
Ellery didn’t realize he was still petting the bib.
Calvin winked then started on his own food. As it turned out, the pheasant was quite good, and the relish was amazing. He even enjoyed the vegetables. So far, everything he’d eaten that day was a thousand times better than the fast food and pizza slices he typically grabbed on his limited budget.
While they ate, Calvin mentioned some of the things they could do with their weekend, including enjoying the grounds of his estate and going into town. There was also the beach, which Ellery hadn’t been to that many times over the years, and lots of nice restaurants.
Mostly, Ellery wanted to be alone with Calvin and spend time in the playroom. He suspected Calvin felt the same.
Once they finished their meal, Calvin told Ellery he could have either two petit fours or one tart for dessert. The struggle was real, but he opted for the French pastry because he’d always wanted to try them. He also switched to milk while Calvin poured himself a brandy.
Calvin leaned against the ladder-back chair, his body the picture of ease as he swirled the liquid in his snifter.
“Do the petit fours meet with your approval?” Calvin’s voice held a teasing tone.
Ellery wiped some crumbs from his mouth. “I think they’re one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.”
The corners of Calvin’s lips twitched. “Oh? I hopeImeasure up to the same standards as a French dessert.”
Ellery paused, not sure what Calvin meant. Then it hit him, and his cheeks caught fire. He almost choked, grabbing his cup of milk to clear his throat. Calvin patted him heartily on the back.
“D-daddy.” Ellery coughed into his napkin one more time. “You’re bad.”
Calvin quirked an eyebrow. “I assure you, baby boy, I’m quite good.”
Oh my.
Ellery chugged the rest of his milk then held up his plate. “All done!”
Chapter Ten
Calvin couldn’t stop stealing glances at Ellery, his beautiful boy, as they finished cleaning up in the kitchen.
Mine.
