Page 16 of Slippery When Wet

While Ellery could acknowledge the wisdom of Calvin’s strategy, for Ellery, there had never been a doubt. The more they talked, the closer he became to the man he now viewed as his Daddy.

Ellery’s phone screen lit up and he grabbed his cell with excitement. His shoulders slumped.

“Hey, Reese.”

He felt bad that he was bummed out that his best friend was calling and not Calvin, but he couldn’t help it. Although, he was sure Reese would understand. They’d been having a hell of a lot of interesting Daddy conversations that week. With all the yakking he’d been doing every day, it was a damn good thing he didn’t have a job anymore. Otherwise, he never would’ve had the time.

“Dude. Have you seen this layout that Calvin’s got? I Google-mapped that bitch, and holy shit. It’s a fucking mega exclusive estate or something, I dunno. I’m beyond jealous right now. Will he be letting you have sleepovers?”

Clearly, Reese’s Daddy was nowhere within hearing range. Calvin had insisted that Ellery give Reese his address in the Hamptons for safety reasons. Ellery wondered if Calvin would soon regret that decision.

Ellery sighed. “I don’t think we’re at that stage yet. I only spent that one day with him and we’ve known each other for all of a week. Give it a minute. Plus…” He’d gotten up the nerve to tell Reese about wanting to try the diapers. To Reese’s credit, he never made fun of anyone’s kinks, but Ellery had still been nervous. “Well, we’re taking things to the next level with the age play this weekend. He’s gone out and gotten stuff just for me and everything. I’m still worried I won’t like the diapers or wearing onesies or the other stuff I haven’t tried yet.” Ellery rubbed his forehead. “This all might be over once the weekend is.”

“I doubt it, El. You loved the things you did already last week, right?”

“Yeah. But sippy cups, bibs and watching cartoons while sitting on Daddy’s lap isn’t the same as him putting a diaper on me. We never even kissed on the mouth, never made out or anything.”

Reese groaned. “Look, I get that this is all new—both the age play and being with a new guy. It’s a lot, for real. But you have to trust in him. Daddy knows best and all that. He’s watching out for you, making sure he doesn’t freak you out with everything at once.” Reese grunted. “If anything, this should give you reassurance that you’re not dealing with a player. He’s behaving like a true Daddy, not like someone who wants to get whatever he can out of you then toss you to the side.”

Ellery nodded, even though Reese couldn’t see him. “I honestly don’t believe he’s anything other than what he says he is. More than that, I canfeelhow much he cares about me. It’s not his words, it’s his actions. You know?”

“Yeah. That’s when it’s the best. Lex was that way with me from the beginning, and I just knew.”

“You knew?”

“He’s the one,” Reese replied. “Sometimes you just know, it’s that simple.”

Ellery didn’t dare say it aloud yet, could barely admit it to himself, but he felt as if he’d found the man he was meant to be with.

“You always said Lex was the best thing that ever happened to you.”

“Seriously.” Reese chuckled. “Who else would put up with my bratty ass?”

Ellery laughed. “He’s crazy about you, I can tell.” He glanced up at the clock next to his TV. “Hey, I’d better go. Calvin will be here any minute.”

“Go get ‘em, tiger.” Reese made a growling sound.

“You’re so weird. Love you.”

“Love you, too. But I need details, I needallthe details.”

Ellery rolled his eyes. “Some of the details.”

“Mostof the details.”

“I gotta go, dork. I’ll call you when I’m back.”

Within a few minutes of ending the call, Calvin’s text came through, letting Ellery know he’d arrived. Ellery sucked in a deep breath, then leapt to his feet so he could open the door for his Daddy. As he waited, nervousness took hold, and he shook out his hands to try and calm down.

Ellery let out a small cry at the sound of a knock on his door. He ran both hands over his head, pushing his long bangs out of his eyes. After another deep breath, he rushed to let Calvin in.

As soon as he swung open the door, all his anxiety melted away. Ellery broke out in a grin. “Hi, Daddy.”

Calvin grinned back then enfolded Ellery in an embrace. Ellery melted against his Daddy’s strong frame, Calvin holding him as if he were the most precious treasure ever. It was impossible to have any doubts when he was in the arms of his Daddy.

“Hello, baby boy.”

Was it his imagination, or was Calvin smelling his hair? Ellery’s cheek was pressed against Calvin’s chest, so he took a deep breath of his own. He discovered that his Daddy’s aroma was a masculine combination of a rich wood and light citrus, with perhaps a hint of an herb—he wasn’t sure. However, the scent was comforting. Ellery knew he’d always associate it with Calvin and that knowledge comforted him even more. When they had to be apart, he could ask his Daddy for something with that smell. Would Calvin think that was strange?
