Tory gasped. “I’m sure she doesn’t.”

Jett hadn’t dragged himself out of the house to gab about his family’s lack of love for him. He was more interested in getting caught up with his friend while waiting to find out what went down in Silas’ meeting with the label.

“Never mind all that.” He swiped at the air as if brushing aside a gnat. “Tell me about these future plans you newlyweds have. And I’m very upset I was invited to the wedding. Just putting it out there.”

“That’s my fault.”

Jett regarded Sean with surprise. “You didn’t want me there?” He was actually a bit hurt by that thought.

Sean shook his head. “No. I mean it was my fault there wasn’t a wedding. We just showed up at City Hall and did it right then and there.”

Tory chuckled. “Sean can be very persuasive under the right circumstances.”

“No details, boys.”

Sean giggled and Tory rolled his eyes. “Leave it to you.” Tory continued, “I should’ve said we’re having a real wedding, but not until we find out what’s going on with the band. You know, in case we have to plan around that.”

“In case? Because you’ll have to plan around it whether we go on tour now or later. Even the rehearsal for the video, working Sean and Crispin into the old numbers…” Jett crossed his arms, frowning. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Uh…” Tory laughed shakily. “Haven’t you been catching the TMZ and YouTube gossip?”

“Gack. No. I’ve been staying far away from all that since the attack. Every time I go online I’m reminded of what happened, and I can’t deal.”

Tory and Sean exchanged glances. Tory rubbed the back of his neck.

Uh-oh. Jett hated being out of the loop.

“Out with it, Tor.”

Tory sighed, his shoulders slumping. “Unnamed sources claim the label is dropping Three Trick Pony due to trouble in the band and a lawsuit being brought against the company from a former band member.”

Jett smirked. “Gee. I wonder who they could be referring to.”

“Actually, I was going to ask you about that.” Tory smiled sheepishly. “I thought maybe it was you.”

“What? Like I’d go and sue our label without saying something to my best friend. I’m not that big of a bitch.” Jett hmphed. “And anyway, you already know about Paul.”

“Right. But maybe we should all get lawyers and look into doing the same thing, you know? What does Silas say?”

Silas had been telling him to get a lawyer from almost the second they met. He’d also given him a list of entertainment attorneys right after Jett moved in and had reminded him just that morning to start making some calls and setting up appointments.

“Oh shit.”

Tory’s eyebrows shot up. “What?”

“I think I’m the worst hint-taker in the history of the universe. I’m vaguely aware that our relationship is a conflict of interest issue with Charisma Records and all that, but it didn’t occur to me that being employed by the label would mean that Silas couldn’t hold my little hand and direct me to take action against his bosses.” Jett smacked his forehead. “And his friend.”

Suddenly, Jett felt as if he was ruining Silas’ life as much as his mom thought he’d ruined hers.

Tory nodded. “Yeah, I was kind of wondering about that.”

“Umm… I think I’m going to have some chocolate cake and a margarita for lunch. Silas can spank me later.”

Tory’s jaw dropped and Sean snickered. “Then it’s true?”

Jett slumped in his chair. “Fuck. What now?”

“That Silas is into a lot of kinky stuff?”
