Tate nodded again. “Yes, Sir. Are you telling me that once you know more about being a Daddy, you’ll want to take over?”
Rogan swallowed hard. The ‘Sir’ had been unexpected, but not a turn-off. If anything, quite the opposite. And he supposed he was telling Tate he’d eventually want to take over. Now what?
These boys should come with manuals.
“I am. Does that sound good to you, or does it make you uncomfortable?”
Tate broke into a wide grin. “It sounds awesome to me.”
A thread of excitement coursed through Rogan, a sensation he couldn’t remember feeling for many, many years.
“Would you have a problem with me meeting Master Zane?”
Tate’s jaw dropped. “He said the same thing! And I don’t want to put any pressure on you, or freak you out or anything, but I think you’re a natural born Daddy, I really do.”
Rogan arched his eyebrows, a chuckle coming out in surprise at Tate’s enthusiastic words.
“I don’t know about me being a natural, however I’m glad to hear he’d like to meet me.”
“Yeah? When? I could ask him tomorrow morning at my check-in. What’s your schedule like? Can I give him your number?”
Tate was vibrating next to him and Rogan had the sense that if he wasn’t anchoring him with his arm around his shoulders, Tate would shoot off the couch.
“My God, you’re cute.” Rogan almost choked on his own spit. He honestly hadn’t meant to say that out loud. No point in back pedaling, though. He’d meant it. “You can give him my number, yes. And if he still says we have to wait before we discuss any kind of relationship other than friendship, will you honor that?”
Tate’s features fell. “You know how I was saying earlier that I’m not a brat, that I’ve always been a good boy who does what his Daddy wants?”
“Yes.”
Tate smirked. “Now I wish I was a brat instead.”
Rogan laughed then hugged Tate close. He might be taking on the Daddy role but holding back wasn’t going to be any easier for him.
“Is my good boy hungry yet?”
He smiled down at Tate who was beaming up at him. Tate’s grin was even wider than before.
“Starving. Can we get ice cream after this? I know of the best place not too far from here.”
Rogan’s heart lightened. This was what he’d been wanting for Tate. A carefree happiness, living in the moment with nothing but hope for a wonderful future. And if he could be a part of Tate’s future? Even better.
