“Nah. Just going over some briefs and Tina’s out of town. What’s up?”

“Wanna grab some lunch tomorrow? Seth’s taking his GED final and I don’t want to be a distraction.”

“Ah, that’s great news. Hold up, let me check my schedule.”

Malcolm stretched his legs and wiggled his toes. He and Seth had gotten home from their trip about an hour ago and Seth was taking a nap. Malcolm couldn’t help but be proud of how well he’d worn out his boy the night before.

“I’ve got a meeting at eleven, but I’m sure I’ll be done by one. Does that work?”

“That’s fine. I might head into town earlier. I need to do some shopping while I don’t have Seth with me.”

“Ooh, do tell.”

“Not happening, Blabby McBlabberton.”

“Hey! I only spill secrets ninety percent of the time. That still leaves you with a full ten percent chance I won’t reveal all.”

Malcolm grunted. “Thanks, but think I’ll pass on those odds.” He needed to steer Nate in another direction. “Anyway, what’s up with that horrid décor at Surrender?”

“What’s the matter? You’re not a fan of early Seventeenth Century vulgar?”

“Hardly. Seth thought it was wonderful, which worked out because it made the experience less stressful. But how could any true lifestyle adherent take that French bordello seriously?”

“You’re such a dungeon snob.”

“No. I just don’t have bad taste.

Nate snorted. “You’re also very salty this morning.”

Malcolm yawned and stretched again. “Not at all. Just tired.”

“Heh heh heh. Sounds like someone enjoyed themselves last night. Tacky décor aside.”

“We did, and before you ask, no details.”

“Well, you’reno fun. But overall, he enjoyed the night out?”

Malcolm smiled as he recalled Seth’s reaction to the figging demonstration, but he had to redirect his thoughts. His cock was remembering too. Malcolm coughed.

“Uh, yes. Yes, he did. However, now that his curiosity has been satisfied, I sense we won’t be going back very often. He confessed that the dance club was of more interest to him, anyway. We enjoy being alone together more than anything.”

“Aww, you guys are so cute.” Nate snickered.

“Shut up, asshole.”

“Come over here and make me, lover boy.”

“Boy? Ha! I don’t think so.”

“Yeah, well—hold on. I have a call coming in from an Idaho area code.”

Malcolm straightened and he had to catch the phone before he dropped. His stomach tightened. They’d been waiting for months to get new updates from either the detectives or prosecutors handling the case against Seth’s former church.

Malcolm growled.Or prison.

“Hey, Malcolm, you still there?”

“Yeah. Tell me.” He gripped the cell tighter.
