Malcolm’s eyelids got heavy, but he had to make sure of one more thing before he allowed sleep to take him. “How are you doing with that plug? Is it going to keep you from getting your rest?”

“I want it, Daddy. Please don’t take it out yet.”

“That’s not what I asked you.”

“The plug isn’t bothering me, I promise.”

Malcolm smiled against Seth’s hair, kneading his boy’s arm and back. “Then let me grab the lights so we can get some sleep.”

Seth clutched at him. “A few minutes longer? Please?”

“I’ll be right back, sweetheart.”

“Please, Daddy?”

Malcolm smiled again. How could he say no to that?
