Daddy was playing with his hair in a most distracting way. “That’s correct.”
Seth cleared his throat. “Then sure. I’ll try a drink. But I don’t know what to get.”
Daddy ran his fingers up the inside of Seth’s thigh, the touch maddeningly light. He’d never needed the cock cage so badly.
“I was thinking something not too far off from what you already like, and nothing too strong.” Daddy furrowed his brow. “I know. When we go out, you usually get cranberry juice with a slice of lime. We’ll take it one step further and add some vodka. How does that sound?”
“Okay. That makes sense. What if I don’t like it, though? I don’t want you to waste your money.”
Seth decided to be daring and stroke his fingers over Daddy’s leather clad thigh. His breath hitched at the decadent, smooth feel of the garment beneath his touch, the solid muscle of Daddy’s thigh. He licked his lips. Now he understood.
Daddy bumped Seth’s nose with his own, their breath mingling. “Doesn’t matter. This is our special night out. If you don’t want to finish the drink, then leave it.”
Daddy stole a kiss and Seth’s eyes drifted closed, the beat of the dance music seeming to match the rhythm of his heart as he was swept away in the moment. Daddy explored his mouth leisurely, wrapping his palm around Seth’s throat with one hand and burying his fingers in Seth’s hair with the other. From Seth’s point of view, no one else existed except for them.
Daddy ended the kiss and Seth was brought back to awareness. Then he remembered they were there with friends, but neither Nate or Tina were at the table.
Daddy nudged his shoulder. “They’re on the dance floor.”
Seth tracked Daddy’s gaze and discovered Nate and Tina were indeed dancing. Not only that, but they were moving with quite a lot of enthusiasm. He couldn’t stop staring. So far, he’d been so focused on Daddy and being in a bar for the first time, that he hadn’t paid close attention to what the patrons on the dance floor were doing. But beyond that, Nate and Tina were people he knew. He’d never seen anyone gyrate like that and he couldn’t imagine how Tina was staying upright on those heels. Of course, Nate had a strong hold on her hips as he moved against her.
The more he thought about it, the more a drink seemed like an excellent idea. Daddy would watch out for him and make sure he wasn’t overdoing. But if he didn’t loosen up the way Daddy had suggested, he couldn’t imagine ever moving around in front of everyone the way they were.
Seth squeaked as Daddy nipped at his earlobe. “Enjoy the show. I’ll be right back with our drinks.”
Seth grabbed his sleeve before Daddy could rise. “Can you wait a few minutes, please?”
Daddy tilted his head, his brow wrinkling. Then his eyes rounded a bit. “Oh God. I’m sorry, baby. I wasn’t thinking.” He laced their fingers together. “We’ll people watch together until they come back.”
Seth gave Daddy a relieved smile. “Thank you. I’m sure it’d be fine if I sat here alone, but…maybe later.”
He had to admit it felt nice that Daddy wasn’t treating him as if he were weak and frightened. That he hadn’t immediately assumed that Seth was too uncomfortable to wait for him on his own.
Daddy regarded him with affection. “Now that I think about it, I might not want to leave you sitting by yourself anyway.”
“Why?”
“I don’t want anyone making a move on my man.”
Seth ducked his head, unable to hold back a smile. “Daddy…”
Daddy moved closer, speaking next to his ear. “I mean it. I honestly don’t know what I was thinking. You drive me insane all the time with how adorable and sexy you are. But being here with you in this atmosphere, your body shown off to perfection in those clothes, and you radiating such innocence and vulnerability—I’d be a fool to leave your side.”
Seth didn’t know what to say. How he wished he could see himself the way Daddy did. Not because he wanted to indulge in vanity, but so he could believe he truly was good enough for him, that Daddy was getting the boy he deserved after being so sad and lonely. Seth wanted to be everything for him.
“Hey! Haven’t you two lovebirds gotten anything to drink yet?” Nate hovered over them, wiping a cocktail napkin across his sweaty brow. “I was going to get me and Tina a couple more Red Bulls. Want me to grab you guys anything?”
Tina laid her hand on Nate’s arm. “I’ll go with you, help carry the drinks.”
Seth was back to feeling like he was a problem to everyone. “Daddy, it’s all right. I can sit here with Tina if you want to help Nate.”
“Are you sure, baby? I meant what I said.”
Seth took the initiative and gave Daddy a peck on the lips. “I know you did. I promise I’ll be fine.” He glanced at Tina then moved closer to Daddy’s ear. “I bet her feet must be hurting, too.”
Daddy cupped Seth’s cheek. “You’re such a sweetheart. All right. We’ll be right back.”
After Daddy and Nate took off, Tina sank onto one of the chairs, her eyes rolling back as if in relief. Seth angled toward her and spoke loudly.
