I pull a face. “Please don’t ever saydaddyaround me again.”

He lifts a big shoulder. “Whatever you say.”

“I say that’s all I can take for the night.” I push my stool back. “Seeyou back at the Lodge.” I nod to Cook, then point to my glass. “And thanks for the beer.”

“What…” He looks at the glass. “Hey!”

I smile as I back away. “Make sure to tip the bartender. Bye, Rocky.” Then I turn into the crowd and head toward the door.

There’s somewhere else I’d rather be.

I blinkas the steam interrupts my view of the stars.

It’s so quiet out here. So… peaceful.

I close my eyes.

It’s obviously been a bit of a rough start, learning to enjoy the outdoors again. But…

I pull in a deep breath of the fresh mountain air.

I could get used to this.

The quiet. The beauty. The change of seasons.

I lift my hand out of the hot tub’s heated water and hold it up, letting the night air cool my damp skin.

If Sterling wasn’t a consideration, I think I could be happy to work here forever.

I lower my hand back beneath the surface.

What is it about that man that just gets to me?

It’s not just his looks. It’s his… strength.

Never in a million years would I have thought I was the type of person who would sleep with my boss.
