"Never." I shook my head. It wasn’t gonna happen.

"We won't hold it against you." The twinkle in his eye said otherwise. No, the guys would hold this over our heads until the end of time.

"Team meeting!" I called out, narrowing my eyes at my boyfriend. "Just you wait and see."

With another chuckle and a shake of his head, Trevor went over to the guys as I got together with the girls.

"This is going great," Lydia said sarcastically.

Beside me, Josie pulled out her phone, rapidly typing on it.

"What are you doing?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I’m calling in reinforcements." Jo looked at the three of us with a smirk. "Do you two mind sitting out the rest of the game?" she asked Mila and Lydia.

"God, no," Lydia answered immediately.

"My legs are exhausted," Mila added. The two were more than eager to get off the ice.

I looked at my best friend, wondering what she had planned. She sent me a look as her phone pinged with a text. She flashed me what it said. Seeing what was on the screen, I felt my own smirk growing. My best friend was an evil genius.

"We need a bathroom break!" Josie yelled out.

"Calling it quits?" Wyatt yelled back.

"In your dreams!" She shot back.

Mila and Lydia made their way off the ice, clinging to oneanother. We really didn't think it through having them two on our team, but at least they tried.

As the two of us skated past the guys to get off the ice, they looked at us with smug expressions. They really thought we were done. I couldn’t wait to see their faces in a few minutes.

"You sure you girls want to keep playing? It's okay if you want to quit." Wyatt said, leaning on his hockey stick.

"We’re fine if you want to stop. No shame." Trevor added.

Josie and I shared an eye roll.

"We want to keep playing," I answered.

"Lydia and Mila aren't playing?" Landon looked at the two who were sitting on the bench next to us, happily munching on some snacks. Snacks I had no clue where they got.

"They’re gonna sit this round out." Josie shrugged like it was no big deal. All four guys stared at us with surprised looks.

“Um, are you sure about that?" Bryton looked skeptical.

"Yep." Jo and I were stalling, waiting for our reinforcement to get here.

"Maybe we should—" Wyatt was cut off by a new voice.

"The help is here!” yelled our backup.

Mateo.

Mateo came up and wrapped his arms around Josie and I's shoulders. The two of us smirked up at the guys, enjoying the surprised looks on their faces.
